Hello, I have a S9P Titan and when I knock with a knuckle on the body/case of the watch, I feel a very noticeable vibration inside. There’s nothing really loose or rattling and maybe that’s totally normal - not sure, though. What about your S9P?

Second question: When holding the middle button, I can access the shortcuts menu, which then lets me choose e.g. settings. Is there a way to customize the shortcuts I’m seeing there? I’d really wish I could directly access the “Power saving” mode there - without first entering “Setting > General > Power saving”.

      Cheers and thanks!

Yes - i do have the same on my unit which ( now being serviced for other issues) is a Titanium version. It happens also when you tap on the body of the watch. I assumed it had to do with the material as I did not notice it on a steel version.

@nasmon My watch also ”vibrate” a bit when tapping lower part of glass. Tapping higher not so much. SP9 titanium.

@nasmon You should not have vibration occurring. Does this feel like the vibration motor is activated? I would contact support.

@andré-faria as for me: it is more something in between a humming and an actual vibration. Almost as if tapping on the watch caused movements in the haptic motor of the watch; it gives me a similar feeling to the one I have when I receive notification (just a bit weaker).
At least, that is the case for me.

@brad_olwin Maybe vibrate is wrong word. It’s not like normal alert but humming like Giacomo-Laffranchini said. Resonance for really short time like spring. On alarms motor works normally.

@jugger @Giacomo-Laffranchini This may indicate an issue with the motor, I don’t think it should occur. I would contact support.

Actually my watch is already at Suunto service center; however, for a different problem.

Perhaps I should have included this in the list of issue to be addressed.

@giacomo-laffranchini Could you write here after you get your watch back and tell if humming is gone? I could also contact Suunto service if my watch is faulty.

@jugger Sure - I can certainly do so! I will post as soon as I get a watch back.

For full disclosure: (1) please note that I sent my watch to Suunto for a different issue (I Don’t know if they will indeed check this vibration issue), and (2) Suunto gave me an estimated time for this repair of 15 business days - I have to be patient

                                @giacomo-laffranchini hmm,
after reading this I have found mine has a slight vibration type thing going on if I tap (using the tip of my finger, not the finger pad) the screen on the bottom half, it reminds me of a spring type vibration, its definitely noticeable, I am assuming as a few of us have felt it; it’s normal; it kind of reminds me when you knock an older guitar amplifier and the reverb spring vibrates, but this one is a shorter vibration period, it doesn’t do it if you tap on the upper half of the screen.

@tonyg Yes - it almost gives a similar feeling to notifications. As said, when my device will ultimately come back from service center I will be sure to post here

@giacomo-laffranchini @Jugger Suunto will do a thorough check of the watch and let you know whether anything is wrong.

@brad_olwin That’s fine. It has no effect on my use but for curiosity I would like to know if it’s normal.

I just checked my brand new S9P and now know what you mean with the resonance.
It is definitely there when tapping on the lower part of the screen. It is not there on the upper part.
Since my watch is new from the factory, I would tend to think that this is normal and not an issue.
Will check back with Suunto since my watch is some kind of a developer model.

Thank you all for your feedback! Reading through this, I’m sure the vibration/resonance is normal. I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s not like something is really loose inside. It rather feels like a firmly attached part that is swinging slightly inside. Might be the accelerometer or the thing that creates the vibrations for notifications.

@jugger I finally got my watch back from Suunto service. I tend to believe that the “humming” is normal as the watch still does it to a certain degree. Everything works perfectly on the watch.

However, I did notice a difference in the repaired unit. Before sending the watch to service the humming was more pronounced and could be triggered by tapping anywhere on the watch. Instead, the humming on the repaired unit is a lot less intense, shorter, and only cause by tapping on the bottom portion of the screen.

Anyway, I am super happy I got my watch back and that everything works well on the watch. Looking forward to go out for some trail running, hopefully, tomorrow.
