Reset of time, date, GPS, compass calibration after sleep mode
-
When I deactivate my 9 Peak via Settings > General > Sleep mode (this may be called differently; I’m seeing the German interface where it’s called “Ruhezustand”), time, date, GPS location, altitude, and compass calibration are reset. Is this normal?
To wake up the watch, one needs to press the upper button for about 4-5 sec. Just to avoid a misunderstanding. I’m not talking about the idle mode the watch enters after 1 min of inactivity.
Cheers and thanks

@nasmon if it is the “power save” mode, it should not reset anything. If it is the “power off”, then it turns off the watch.

@isazi Thanks for your very fast response Yes, I mean the “Power off” mode. Is it normal that the mentioned data is reset there?
-
@nasmon I think so, the watch will connect to the app and get time and date back, also AGPS.
-
@isazi Yeah, that’s what I observe GPS, altitude and compass need recalibration, though. Still, I LOVE this feature!
By the way, you / this forum seems to be much more competent than Suunto’s native support. They didn’t even seem to know that the “Power off” mode exists :'-D

I also like to be able to turn off the watch if and when I want to (not that I did it much, probably once in 4 months).
Compass will probably need calibration again, for GPS you just need to get a fix. As for altitude it should not change more than few meters. -
@isazi Hmm, altitude is usually off by about 100 m (too low). Happened in various locations. I’m not too worried about that, because in activities or when not turning the watch off, it’s all good.
