Sport mode customization in Ambit 3 Peak.
-
One of the runners I coach just replaced her very old Ambit with a new A3P.
She needs to create a new sport mode with only 3 lines for easier viewing due to her poor eyesight.
My question…
She doesn’t have a computer, but just an iPhone. Is it possible to create a new sport mode and modify screens with Suunto App…and without initially connecting A3P to computer? Also, I used to set up her watch remotely for her (with her login and password), but can’t do this now as I need to have watch with me apparently. I’ve tried to walk her through this, but last had an A3P about five Suunto watches ago.
I tried to talk her into a S9P, as I love mine, but she’s set in her ways. Thanks!

@derrick-spafford I think you need a computer for the Ambit, the app can sync activities for now but that’s it, you really need Suuntolink.

That’s what I thought might be the case, but was unsure. Thanks!

Yes, you can read about it here https://www.suunto.com/fr-fr/Assistance/faq-articles/transition/comment-utiliser-les-services-de-suunto-avec-ambit3/

@andré-faria Thanks, yes I did read that, but was a little unclear.

@derrick-spafford You can do a sport mode configuration through any browser (I just checked on my Chrome on Android). Once you have it configured in Movescount, the watch needs to sync the changes. I always did it through a Windows computer using Suunto Link (previously with Moveslink), but i would check if you could use the Suunto App to sync not only the activities, but also the settings.
Edit: I don’t think you can do it through SA, but you can do it on any desktop (Windows or Mac).
Btw. you can configure the sport mode “remotely”; there is no need to have the watch nearby.
Btw 2. you need that settings synchronization only once, so you can use just about any computer (as long as it is running Windows). -
@mdzott Thanks, yes, that was the problem in that she didn’t have a computer. She found someone with a computer to help her so all is good now.
