GPS normal?
-
@theguyfromthesummit still this is very strange.
GPS fix with up to date AGPS data and clear view of the sky should not take more than a couple of seconds…
Even more strange is, that your friend’s watch also takes a long time to get a fix…
But the more interesting question is how his tracks compare to yours an the same route.Cheers!

@isazi since when Galileo has issues? I’ve been using it for more than a year now with seemingly mo problems.
-
@dmytro since 2.18 firmware. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not, but I stopped using because of this. It is an acknowledged bug and should be solved with next update.
-
@isazi ok, got you, thanks for the update!
-
@egika as soon as we find time to run together I will definetely check it.
For now I wont change anything, I just have to test, how this affects the navigation.
-
Short update:
GPS track now is absurdly bad.
Compass doesn’t work, even after calibrating it the 3rd time this morning.Anyone else having this issues?
Getting really annoyed by this.

@theguyfromthesummit As a general note for this thread, GPS/Galileo/Beidou reception can vary a lot depending on time and location.
The Japanese government created a nifty tool to show how many GNSS satellites you can see at any time for any place on earth. It’s called GNSS View and can be used (web) or downloaded (for iOS and android) here: https://qzss.go.jp/en/technical/gnssview/index.html

@theguyfromthesummit unfortunately I cannot really help, maybe someone from Suunto can do more
But did you get a new watch, or just your own sent back to you after a check?Today I went out with 4 watches, including the S9B, and I got a very good track.
-
@isazi No worries!
I just try to figure out, if others have the same problem.They just replaced the GPS unit, so I got the same watch basically back.
-
@theguyfromthesummit with these massive issues you should check back with Suunto’s tech support.
I think hardly anyone here can help you at this stage. Compass and GPS are working normally within their usual range for everyone else. -
@egika thanks!
