Software update 2.16.26 June 10th 2021

“Raise to Wake” that can be debated… My wife’s watch was shining all night long cause she was turning in the bed. So my sleep qual is crap today! (Tone, backlight & vibrations are always off in all of my devices). What bothers me is that the Low backlight is too bright But there is power saving option so i can manage ️
I do miss inclination data field & particulates data field in climbing, mountaineering, hiking… SM.P.S. I do hate the tought of having a million third-party apps connected to SA just because of 2 or 3 extra measurement i want to see…

@mountaineerx use DND. Then the watch is silent
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos it’s ON all of the time…

@zhang965 It is badly traslated, yes. Wondering how I would render it, maybe “Chinois avec aaractères traditionnels disponible pour les montres en version Chinoise”? Not entirely sure.
chinois traditionnel est disponible pour les montres en marché chinois

Guy,
If I would offer some weekends for translation, do you think so, that it would be possible to make some "Hungarian version " ?
-
@mountaineerx I missed inclination too from my A3P App. However, with Suunto+ climb you can have it. It is not recorded, however, and it makes it impossible to have an alternative S+ App. I use it for the bike as an standard, to check if I am over 2.5% in percentage to go back down and have a beer instead. I have not tried how accurate it is in mountaineering. Maybe @Brad_Olwin have had with XC skiing

@stefan-kersting remember Windows 7 is not supported anymore by Suuntolink
nor does Microsoft

Hi all,
Impossible to turn off backlight since the last update. Someone else in this case ? Some people on another website have the same problem, soft reset managed the problem for some people -

@aleksander-h I’ve worn my S7 right next to a Fenix 6x, and the S7 track is always trash compared to the Fenix. I enjoy the smartwatch features enough that the S7 still makes it into the rotation from time to time.
Here is an example from last weekend, S9baro; S9Peak Endurance Mode and S7 best. the S7 gives the best tracks here.

@ink357 Check:
- Your Standby is off OR your Raise to Wake is on. Otherwise, you gonna get constant low-level (standby) light
- Backlight option in Quick Menu is off
-
@nickk raise to wake was off. Thank you
-
Hi!
Anyone could share de .zip with this last firmware to force the update for S9?
I cant do it with w7 on my pc
thanks!
-
Let me say a big ‘thank you!’ to all the Suunto team.
I already tested almost all new features from these update, and they are awesome!Raise-to-wake feature - top!
I really missed it in a cold and dark winter evenings/mornings -
A little bit disapointed by the S+ ghost runner. I didn’t expect that. To me it was to challenge yourself on a defined route.
Maybe it is not possible… but imagine, shared your .gpx to your friends and he have your « passing time » along the route. Would be realy chalenging -
@ink357 it’s a pacer for racing and training, the point is not to beat the ghost, but to go as the ghost. In fact if you are faster it shows you the distance in red, for you to notice and slow down.

Any updates to GPS / OHR firmware this time?
-
@łukasz-szmigiel no updates on the OHR or GPS this time
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos sorry, someone had to ask sooner or later
-
@łukasz-szmigiel legit question though
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos to me, current GPS firmware is great and I very rarely have any issues. Most of times it’s spot on. Challenging conditions are challenging and I don’t mind really. If Suunto / Sony were to decide it’s final, I’d be ok with that. The only thing that I’d like to see improved is battery life with Galileo / GLO. If it’s possible to make it equal to GPS only - that would be super awesome.
OHR is another story though - I don’t mind “spikes” but OHR locking on ~160 for 5 - 15 minutes while walking is a bummer. I think there’s room for improvement there as the problem is less so with accuracy but with “stubbornness” of OHR module. If it locks too high or too low (rarely), it likes to stay there for long. I use belt for running but it’s nice to have a nice backup option for hiking and some less intense sports where I don’t need the belt. But honestly - can Suunto really do much about OHR in S5/S9 without input from 3rd parties (like with GPS and Sony)?
