Energy saving tilt not persistent
-
@nshkira I tried.
Using a watch face with no power save option works with normal tilt to wake on.
My issue is with the power save watch face. Using it in power save mode does not work. It always reverts to full power tilt to wake -
@egika Couple of random suggestions…
Do you have settings for tilt to wake on the watch and in WearOS on the phone conflicting each other? Maybe one is overriding the other?
Also - and this is a very random long shot - make sure tilt to wake is off, turn on power saver tilt and then immediately restart the watch by holding the power button (just a restart, not a full reset!).
This was an issue I experienced back in September and this was a way around it.Also, as a final point, make sure your watch is running the latest firmware (as this was present back in september but was resolved by january).

@olymay thank you.
Indeed I was among the first to discover the bug that the Suunto Wear App would change these settings to what it initially found.
Now it happens without even starting any app.
Also the phone app does not conflict, it reflects the watch setting and is off, when the watch is off and vice versa.Now my issue seems to be even bigger: even the normal tilt to wake setting does not stay off, if I deactivate it together with the power save tilt to wake.
After a few minutes tilt to wake is active again…
Wtf…? -
I found a lot of reports when searching for this issue:

Found it.
And it did not help…Had to fully reset the watch and start from scratch
-
@egika did that fix the issue though?

@jamie-bg I had the issue of power tilt shifting to tilt to wake. It came to the conclusion that it was because I had used a watch face that didn’t support the power tilt. I tried everything I could think off, uninstall watch face/reboot, without being able to get power tilt to work. Ended up resetting the watch and its working perfectly again. Annoying, but now I know and at least reinstalling doesn’t take to long.

@harboe - only suunto and moto watch faces use power tilt.
Though it was only suunto but recently discoverd that moto also has that functionality.
Sort of suggests it should be open to everyone, but not seen any others. Maybe it has to be a manufactuerers watch face… -
@jamie-bg I believe its because of the 3100 processor. And the 4100 plus is we ever see any devices using it (Suunto 7 us hopefully).
-
@harboe sorry - should have qualified that it is open to everyone with a 3100/4100+ chip. Initially I thought it was something that suunto had incorporated into the watch in the system update - however as Moto can also do it, it must be wear os integrated. Its just a pity that no one else is using it, including watch face makers.
