Suunto 9 Peak
-
@brad_olwin I believe Suunto was also the first with support for apps on the original Ambit and the first with a high-res screen on the Spartan series capable of 7 data fields and a lap table during activities.
-
@pschenn
suunto was also the only watch maker and analysis platform supporter out of one hand (that I found…) to read ascent rate in meters per hour for specific selected sections of an activity…I hope this is coming back one nice sunny and cloudless day in the future

Very curious about the new suunto, specially about confort!
For me, perfect size is somewhere between 44-42mm…
Before buying the F6S, tested the 945 (47mm) and found it “too big” . But then weight, height, shape and strap play a huge role in confort.
FR45 (42mm/36g) was utterly confortable for me while F6S Sapphire (42mm/61g) is not pleasant to use. Nylon strap made it better but not perfect.
Hope sunto nails on this!
I tested for some minutes a Suunto 9 Baro on my whirst and while it seemed confortable it too big, won’t go back to such big watches.
Hope we can see it soon “live”. -

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos New approach of releasing?
I can’t recall Suunto ever was so specific about a date and time of new releases. Usually there were rumors and then suddenly…BOOM… there it was -
I am one that likes big watches, for me the size of the S9 is perfect.
From the leaks that we have seen, I think that the design is very surprising, something new and refreshing but I still do not know if I like it . Design wise, IMHO, Suunto does not have rival now a days.
What surprises me quite a lot is that nobody has commented anything about the the height of the new device and the size of the bezels which seems huge compared with the diameter, if the leaks are true. I know that technically all this is needed but is not an ultra thin watch.
Even though I do not have intention to change my S9B yet, I’m quite excited to see how is the new watch and what has made Suunto to surprise us.

@cosmecosta
I’ve had very similar thoughts… what I remember it looks like a Polar with a huge bezel on top, and the smallish buttons hide very low below that bezel.
I am curious, too… but I suspect that I like my X-Alps way too much to upgrade. -
@cosmecosta is s3 considered slim?
-
A serious doubter here…
Lets see what the release brings (and for what price ). -
Guys you dont need to buy everything new that comes out :-d
S9B is a great watch!
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos Why not? Just supporting Suunto.
Some wise men on this forum told me that the perfect number of watches is n+1. -

Don’t forget the Spartan Ultra. Another great watch if you are not a 100-hours-ultra-trail-runner …

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos we don’t? 0_o

@dimitrios-kanellopoulos The S3, well I never payed to much attention to it. So I do not know. What I commented is the sensation regarding the pictures leaked, so I will wait to see official pictures and reviews.
I’m not buying it yet, S9 needs to last some more years and now a days I’m very happy with it, more if we continue receiving interesting updates as it seems.
