Truth or memories
This was possible with the S9 through Movescount but was removed in SA unfortunately. Now some sport mode record altitude but sometimes that isn’t very useful
I knew this, even my Spartan had this one but MC is dead for such watches.
What is the goal, for a brand new watch model, to let users, who read the manual, think that they can change this setting ?
I was more ironic than really asking if it was true. Bug in the S9P manual in think (except if SA is expected to deliver this feature soon). -
@isazi Did you already report the black/white line issue with the white outdoor watchface?
I selected the blue (light theme) outdoor watch face. This makes the sunrise/set dial blue and the pressure green. In the middle there is a black indicator for the current values
If you tap on it, it first shows sunrise/set dial only, also with a black line as indicator
if you tap once more, it shows the pressure dial only, but this time with a white line as indicator of the current value.Is this expected behavior or a bug?

Today first day of charge the watch with 19% of battery since Tuesday at 11:00AM with sleep tracking and ohr all day. And impressive that less than 15 minutes and now charged 75%
-
@surfboomerang a separate topic just for “watch face issues” would be better, so we can keep track and forward everything to Suunto.
-
@omunoz
Feel the same, charging is really fast.
I imagine that with little powerbank, one could charge on the go during some pauses in long expected activities. -
@isazi Good idea. I’ll open one soon.
-
@mff73 yes but mind the activity capacity.
Some people abuse this function to record like 200h of data. The watch can hold up to ~50h of 1s data (belt pods etc).

The S9P looks like a toy compared to the SSU… now I just have to hold out at job somehow
-
I think I’m unlucky, the backlight in my S9P has a shade of magenta, I compared to my old SSU and I can clearly see the difference, especially with the green color
someone had the same issue? -
@aroo7
Maybe a comparison picture would help -
@sartoric
Green is not green more like blue -
@aroo7 Truth be told, green in S9 is also kind of like aqua. Did you make those photos in neutral light?
-
@aroo7
Same issue outside in the sun ?
Could be some reflection due to artificial lights and sapphire glass -
Guys, I figured out what the S9P is like. Suunto Lumi only with new hardware
-
@aroo7 all transreflective screens have a little of those issues. If this is under a lot of backlight it’s ok. If it’s under little/none it depends
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos the white dial is highlighted in pink light. It looks a bit like night mode
-
@sartoric and @NickK it is not a reflection. the dial is highlighted in pink light, it is not visible outside in the sun

First impressions on the S9P replacing my S9Baro titanium:
DESIGN
- It is really very very beautiful but I find it too small as its screen. I think that for my wrist size the ideal would be a watch of about 46mm with a bigger screen for my eyes
On the other hand, for my wife’s wrist who also ordered one, it is perfect! - Very pleasant to wear
- The screen is of much better quality than the S9B
FUNCTIONALITY
- During my test, I left at an altitude of 84m and I made 5 accelerations of 30’’ with recovery of 45’’ on a small circuit to test the GPS precision and with the OHR:
- When I came back to the starting point, my altitude was 82m
- The GPS track (GPS+QZSS+BEIDOU) seems to be really good as you can see on the circuit training I did 8 times. - The pace curve shows the accelerations well - My heart rate was a little higher than usual at the same pace, about 5-10 beats above normal, which is too much. On the other hand, the 5 accelerations are clearly visible and the watch seems quite responsive. I will continue to test this because it seems promising but there is still room for improvement in terms of reliability. It’s useless for me if the accuracy is not improved.
- SpO2 is not regular enough and the fluctuations are important when comparing two measurements one after the other, which makes this feature not very useful if it lacks reliability…
- I’m waiting for a feature to do a recovery test based on heart rate variability.-
I don’t know yet if I’ll test the ORH on my run this week end because I don’t trust it… to see
