Suunto 9 Peak
-
@isazi When the S5 came out, I stated if it had a barometer it would be my watch of choice, smaller, lighter and accurate. But I have to have a barometer because vertical matters more than distance to me.

All in all this is very close to release. So if you like guys, try to be a little subtle. We will go over all this in detail officially and from official testers perspective.
The air is heating up…
-
@brad_olwin I also would not use a watch without a barometer.
-
I plan to upgrade to S9P, just a question - is the sS9P successor to S9B? Is this watch a new flagship model?
-
It seems to get to many unnecessary functions. Better to have a few stable functions like in the present S9.

you wont need a peak for the peaks? More suited
I need S9 Peak for Training Peaks calendar and intervals workout integration.

@zhang965 XD
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos do we need to wait for hours, days or weeks?
-
@theo-lakerveld I cannot disclose this but I would not say weeks

@dušan-ković
S9B has just been thoroughly revised in design. Not the umpteenth special series based on the same graphics but a watch in effect cleaner in the line, minimal and lighter. After a few days the X-ALPS version came out. This makes me think that the S9B will be alongside the S9P for a long time to come. And if so, it would also make sense. Two diameters are better than one -
@saketo-nemo That’s just what I don’t understand yet.
If everything on the S9 Peak is the same or better then the current S9 Baro and they both are still sold, why whould a new buyer go for the S9 Baro instead of the Peak? -
@surfboomerang because it’s larger and maybe cheaper?
-
@surfboomerang Apparently they will have more options too choose from. Tastes among people are different so some may find the normal 9 more attractive, some will find the peak. Price is there too. E.g.: fenix has so many editions that you need phd to distinguish them
-
@surfboomerang larger ? People like designs as well…
-
@saketo-nemo hmmm, but S9P has probably all S9B features + different GPS chip, different HR sensor, BT 5.0, fast charge, etc. In my eyes it is next model. Why would new user buy B instead of P if P is better hardware to start with. Im just hoping suunto will not publish some next flagship S11 or whatever after some of us buy S9P
-
@surfboomerang
Exact. Bigger, cheaper, more proven, more … who knows what else. Without knowing S9P it is impossible to understand its differences with S9B. We’ll see -
Hmm… all true.
I guess time will tell -
Let me just say that we do not have any sign that the S9 (non peak) has been abandoned. Actually, we have plenty of signs it has not been abandoned, and this after 3 years from launch.
-
@saketo-nemo it is confirmed that the Peak version will be smaller than 50mm?
