[Resolved] How to avoid that Suunto Wear app to connect with Google Fit or request this?
-
I decided to not use anymore Google Fit because new implementation on S7 is great after the recent firmware update. But now I have a annoying notification from Suunto…
Google Fit is not connected on my Wear SA.
Any way to totally remove it?
Thx!EDIT: Typo
-
@flypg they may still have connection to it due to how wear os is embedded.
Just switch off all the analytics, sensors etc in the google fit app and then ignore it.To totally remove it you would have to use ADB.
-
You can not remove or uninstall Google Fit, it’s a system app and you need a rooted device to be successful. But with adb you can disable it for the current user.
-
Did you both disable Google Fit in the Suunto app AND log out of Google Fit in the Fit Goals app? I did this earlier today, and I’ve not had any issues.

Alternatively log out from the Fit Goal app on the watch. That should disable everything related to Google Fit on the watch.

I did it yesterday. Switched off all options, removed all permissions in the system settings of the S7 and deleted all data in Google Fit app on the S7 (so it is unconfigured) and deactivated it via adb for the current user.
Nevertheless I get steps and activities in Google Fit on the S7. Coming from the S7 itself. From Google Fit or Suunto wear app.
That is the actual question, where these data come from. Suunto wear app is connected with Google Fit account and I didn’t use any other watch or app which would have synced steps or activities to Google Fit. Just the S7 was used.

Thanks to everyone!

As I understand, I disconnected the SAWear, but the
Suunto accountSuunto Wear app still connected to Google. I Discover this recently checking on my Google Account on Apps with access to your account. Even when watch shows me that not.EDIT: Correction
-
@flypg interesting. Suunto no longer showed up in the Google Fit app on my android phone after I turned it off on the watch.
-
A bit off topic but for those of you that disabled Google Fit; did you guys notice better battery life at all?
If so, by how much or is it too early to tell since the update was supposed to be fully rolled out by yesterday (Thursday, April 22)?If it’s too early, please keep a log!! I’m very interested! I don’t have my watch at the moment to test it and I won’t be able to tell on fresh watch.
-
@eurohiker I not measured exactly, but yes, I have a better battery life. I can’t confirm you if this is result of disconnect and disable Google Fit (without ADB method until now) or because the improvements on the new firmware, that even with these new additions performs better.
Until today, I continue getting the annoying notification of “Google Fit sync error.” from Suunto Wear app, I could’t solve this. -
My first topic title was wrong. The correct question is:
Why Suunto Wear app request me to connect to Google Fit always? or how to stop this?
Now I already have Google Fit disconnected and disabled on the S7, but I have the annoying and continue notification from the Suunto Wear app that tell me: Google Fit Sync error. For the moment I only ignore, but exist any way to stop this request from the Suunto Wear app to connect with Google Fit or is mandatory? Thanks! -
@flypg did you disable Google Fit (adb) while the connection from Suunto wear app was active?
-
@pilleus thanks, no. I not used ADB until now. I signed out, force stop the app, clear all data, uninstall the upgrades, remove all the permisions and after these, I disabled the app Google Fit. Also the request comes from Suunto Wear app…
EDIT: and also I removed the permissions to the Suunto Wear app on Google.

@flypg
The connection to Google Fit in Suunto Wear app on the Suunto 7 ist disabled too? This would be the only option which can cause the trouble, because there is no Google Fit on your Suunto 7 to connect to …
-
@pilleus Thx, yes, also disabled…
-
@flypg I did all the steps you did, but I have never seen the message on my Suunto 7. So I cannot help in any way …
-
@flypg try to perhaps use it, then disconnect. Maybe the app thinks it’s still an account connected.
-
@dimitrios-kanellopoulos @pilleus Thanks to both!, yes, exactly. Today after I read the message from @pilleus I reconnected Google Fit from Suunto Wear app and few minutes later I signed out again, problem solved no more notifications. Thanks!
