Problems with sport mode after update to 2.14.12
-
Hi together. Yesterday i made the update for my Suunto 2.14.12 . This was interrupted an so i have to reset the watch and start again. The new software was then installed, but I cannot now call up or change any sport modes in the app. “Loading list” is displayed permanently and nothing changes. I installed the Suunto app on 2 iphones and both have the same problem! Does anyone else have this issue or know help?

@olli2709 I have the same problem. I have restarted my iPhone, restarted my watch, and deleted and reinstalled the Suunto app. Nothing has solved the problem
-
@tarzan Did you do the hard reset? You have to connect the watch to the PC with the cable and reset the watch via Suunto link. A reset via the clock (press the buttons for 12 seconds) is not sufficient. That worked for me.
-
The issue is understood. For now the advice is to full reset the watch
-
@olli2709 If I do the hard reset, will have to recreate the custom sports modes that I am currently using? or are they stored in Suunto App?

They are not stored! I take screenshots and save them so I can reproduce my custom sport modes.

@brad_olwin and @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos, if we choose not to hard reset, is there any (known) downside other than unchangeable sports modes?
Looking forward, is there any expectation that the guidance will change and a full reset will be unnecessary?

Update to 2.14.14 should be available now.
-
@isazi S5 only?
-
@herlas it’s an S5 specific fix for the issue described in this topic.
-
@isazi The 2.14.14 update did not solve my problem. I did a soft reset and deleted and reinstall the Suunto app. I have been resisting the hard reset because I don’t want to risk losing existing custom sports mode if for some reason the hard reset did not solve problem.
-
@tarzan For me, only the hard reset solved the problem. It’s annoying, but in about 2 hours of work I re-created all of my personal sport modes.
-
@tarzan I asked if the update is enough or a reset is necessary.
-
@isazi I had to do a hard reset to get everything working again for my S5.

sorry just re-reading, can you delete previous pls

@tarzan I asked, you are supposed to do a hard reset with 2.14.14 and the problem should not happen again, but yeah you need this reset because the corruption already happened.
For people that not had the issue manifest itself, just update to 2.14.14 and you will not need to do a hard reset.

@isazi The problem is that with every software update of the watch the update is interrupted, I have to reconnect the watch and then an automatic hard reset takes place, so that all sport modes are gone !!! This was the case with the last two updates of my suunto 5. Very annoying. I’ll skip the next update if it’s not important. It must be possible, similar to an iphone, to save the watch’s settings and reload them.
-
@olli2709 unfortunately what you experience should not happen, meaning that updates should not get interrupted and force a hard reset. Something must be wrong with your cable or computer.
-
@olli2709 this isn’t normal. I never had to hard reset my S5 since I bought it and all updates went well first day they went online.
