S7 Notification vibration setting
-
Does anyone know if it’s possible to setup on the watch or WearOS app the apps you want to get vibration alerts for? So far it’s a vibrate all or no notifications at all. This is from the smartwatch point of view, this should also get us a bit more of battery when you e.g. wear the watch while working and you don’t want it vibrating for each and one of the notifications.
Thx

@herlas in the Wear OS app on your phone, go to “Notifications” -> “Change watch notifications”.

@aleksander-h yeah that turns on and off notifications for apps, I’m looking at disabling vibration on the watch for some app alerts while keeping others I might be interested in
-
@herlas ah right. Apologies. Completely missunderstood.
-
@herlas Don’t think there is, but you can check on the wear os reddit forum. Malbry may have something that allows that. There is nothing natively built into wear os to do that.

@herlas
Settings - Apps & Notifications - App Notifications - Show All
Then if you click any app you get to a screen that allows you to enable/disable on per-app basis.(I think also when you get a notification from an app there is an option to block them - so over time you can just block those apps you don’t want notifications from).

@jamie-bg I’ll check, wonder why Google seemed to think we want our watches to vibrate all the time we don’t do on our phones either
-
@herlas - suppose from a hardware and software perspective they can do more.
saying that my phone notifies me via vibration and notification tone for all notifications unless I turn them off, put DND, and or switch to a vibrate/silent notification.Your watch is effectively the same - you don’t want it to notify for an apps notification - turn it off for that app.
You don’t want to receive any vibration (notification sound if you have a speaker which the S7 doesn’t) then put DND on (note you can also adjust DND like you can for your phone).
You can also go into the apps notifications settings (on the watch) and adjust those if they have any built in - go and take a look at the options for google play store on watch (loads of different notification options - can tweak which notifications you receive) however some like messages - its on or off.
So really bit like your phone - really depends what the dev has built into their app as to how your can adjust. You could try changing your notification previews to off - not sure if that changes whether it vibrates or not.
