Assistant shows empty search results
-
Hi everyone,
I recently noticed the Google Assistant showing empty search results for a lot of simple searches like “How many people live in Paris?” or “How high is the highest mountain on earth?” (asked in German language). It shows phrases like “I found this definition” or “Here is some information from Wikipedia” - but nothing beneath. I tried it with several random questions, and nearly half of them are affected.
Is this a known issue? I already did a hard reset without any effect.
Strange fact: I’m pretty sure I successfully asked the Paris question after buying the watch, because this is a standard question for me when I test Alexa or other voice stuff. Unnecessary to mention that the Assistant on Android knows the answer.

Assistant really dissapoints me. There are buttons with suggestions like: “Show the latest news” etc. When pressed Assistant often says something like “Error occured”. Something like 30% of my questions return errors or no answer. I mean if you suggest me to ask something and can’t answer - that’s a fail. Looks like the problem of Google thow.

@trinitao What language is GA set to? If it isn’t set to US English - this sort of thing can occur.
How many people in in Paris?
Paris Population 2.161 million (2019) Sources Eurostat and INSEE.What is the highest mountain on Earth?
Earth / Mountains / Maximal Elevation
Mount Everest

Thanks for your replies!
@Nshkira Same here. Even some of the suggested questions get no result. I’m just not sure whether this is a Google fail or an issue with the implementation in the S7.
@Jamie-BG Language is set to German, but it doesn’t look like that’s the problem. As you can see in the screenshots Google understands my question and gets the answer, but it’s not shown below the phrase. I first thought of a displaying issue with some websites like Wikipedia, but I can’t confirm that.
Any other experiences or someone who has the same behaviour in English language?

It’s broken on many different watches as a Google search showed. Google has to fix this one unfortunately which hasn’t happened in some time. Another fun problem with Wear OS.

@trinitao its the language, try changing and you will see results.i shifted mine from UK English to US English and haven’t had issues like that.
I think it is something to do with how a phrase is worded. GA on wear os is a very basic version on the phone, and often has to be very specifically worded to get a response i.e. for opening apps somtimes Open X will work, other apps may require start X ,and others may require lauch X, some with work with all 3 some with a combination and some only with specific. GA is a bit of a mess on wear os.
