Ambit3 Peak elevation gain

@dominikbalko
no, that looks strange… a slight difference, like the 34m is acceptable in my liberal point of view… but almost 400m is too much.
The graph looks fine on all… a bit jumpy in one example but that correlates with the recorded track, too…did you update to the latest agps, try soft reset and all that stuff? maybe also carefully clean the baro sensor?
-
I am syncing the watch regularly with Suunto app, I did a full reset of watch. How to clean baro sensor? I have only washed the watch with water. I had the similiar problem with these watch, these are my 2nd one and in service I was told that this behaviour is normal due to pressure changes in time.
Thanks for help.
UPDATE: I have looked closely at baro opening and that little hole where I suupose the air flows in was clogged with some dirt, I cleaned it and will see if that helps. I did not realize earlier that I should look at that part too.
-
To clean it, leave it in warm water and mild soap for a while and maybe gently use a soft toothbrush, then rinse it.
Don’t use a needle or similar thing as you can make it worse. -
What say you about this? 2 hour 45 min run on converted rails-to-trails (so almost perfectly flat). I’m assuming this has to do with temperature differences or could the barometer be faulty or need cleaning? I went from in my car (72 degrees F) to running (22 degrees F) in 2-3 min.

@fazel
this definitely is a hectic example of wrong altitude recording!!
I find it crazy that this topic cumulates in the recent days… might be coincidence?!I’ve had a conversation with @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos because I noticed during a trial that the alti graph is drifting while I just put my watch stationary on the balcony and started an activity.
The baro sensor is sensitiv to temperature change, BUT we should not notice it as FusedAlti corrects it on the fly (and backwards afaik).
Maybe, just a first thought: is your sensor dirty or the holes clogged? Or did you manually adjust your start altitude before you started this activity? -
@TELE-HO Does the Ambit have FusedAlti? This was recorded with an Ambit3 Peak. I didn’t think they had this feature. The crazy thing is, the first time I ran with this watch after a long period of using the 9 Baro, it performed flawlessly. But the last two times I’ve ran with the watch, both on this rails-to-trail which is flat, I’ve had elevation errors…

yes it does.
if you manually adjust altitude before the activity FusedAlti is deactivated and the elevation is more sensitive to mistakes due to weatherchange, temperature etc… but not to that extend IMHO -
@TELE-HO Okay - I did NOT adjust the altitude before. So it must be something else…the ascent was corrected when sent to Strava but I assumed Strava did that as SA still has to messed up values.
-
@fazel
what graph do you see when you upload it to QS? -
@TELE-HO here’s what I see…
-
-
@fazel
I would get in touch with customer service -
@TELE-HO thank you.
-
@fazel
not much help from my side, sorry.
Sometimes the sensor can be dirty but a graph flying higher than Everest… never seen before. -

Run into much JFK-LAX traffic up there?
-
@Fenr1r I’m dyin’ over here…
-
@fazel that is quite a jump! Strong legs!
-
@Brad_Olwin haha. You agree - contact support?
-
@fazel make sure baro sensor holes are not clogged and weren’t. Then support.
-
correct. The baro holes on the A3P are very prone to be clogged. Or sweat etc.
