Suunto 7 - Manual lap display on watch
-
Anyone know how to get the S7 to show the manual lap times on the watch?
I know that the lap page will show the laps based on the set distance, but what if I am doing something where I need to manually set lap time/distance and I need to see that while I am working out? I know that it flashes up when I press the button, but what if I want to check on previous times to see if I need to increase or decrease based on previous times.I know that I can see the manual lap detail post workout in the diary and in the suunto phone app, but how about the ability to see it while tracking, just like we can see the standard lap times. Surely it should also show these lap times, maybe highlighted in green to differentiate from auto laps - or we should be able to choose to show auto lap times or manual lap times, or add another lap screen or choose which lap screen to show.

Outside the Suunto wear app it’s no problem. I use Ghostracer to have the actual and last lap time on the screen.
If necessary I import the activity into the Suunto app with the result of loosing the ascent and descent.
But my data pool is QS and there all data are available.

@Jamie-BG I recently did a run using ‘Running Interval’ instead of ‘Running Basic’ as I wanted the exact same thing as you. And it worked perfectly!
You no longer get auto laps when doing the activity, so the only laps you get will be ones you trigger yourself.
I hope this helps.

@olymay correct. Intervals is made for you to add manual laps.
-
@olymay - awesome. Thanks that helps. Good to know. looks like I need to add another custom to my short list.
Does it still trigger and show standard interval pop up; or do you not get any standard lap info while tracking.

@Jamie-BG I’ve only used the default interval plan (not a custom mode) and it does not do any auto laps at all when running. You can still get your km splits back in the app or in Strava etc.

@olymay thanks, was rather hoping to have both as like to match against km marker and my own specific lap markers. But can work around. Though would be nice to see this implemented in a future update.
-
@Jamie-BG Agreed, it would be nice to have the option of manual, auto, or both.
I’ve only just discovered this setting in the watch myself, so maybe @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos knows more?

Unfortunately, only the stock Interval running mode works for this. All Custom modes have autolap. I tried as I do not like Avg. Pace on the Interval mode, I want my real-time pace.
