problems with my S9B
-
Hello
bought my S9B last christmas
in the first training sessions I had problems with the positive and negative accumulated.
I sent it to the Suunto factory and they said everything was fine.
I did some more mountain training and went back to having the same problems.
I did everything they told me …
Altitude ok
Reset soft
Reset factory
I sent it back to the factory in February and they say again ir das every thing ok.
Then came the Pandemic and i stop the mountains.
Now I started training on the mountain again and I continue with same problems.
I dont know what to do anymore.
Can same one helo me?
Last…
S9B - 1400D+
Ambit peak - 450D+
Sorry for my English -
@Luis-Duarte
To be honest, I didn’t understand what’s the problem.
I suppose it has something to do with altitude, but, can you link a move or make an example?Did you try to search the forum for a similar issue ?
-
@Luis-Duarte 450 vs 1400 looks like meters vs feet?
-
the problem is the accumulated positive and negative.
always gives more in long workouts.
today for example I ran with my 2 watches.
S9B and ambit 3
and gave the difference the s9B 1400 with positive accumulation and the ambit 3 450 with positive accumulation. -
@Luis-Duarte There are two issues that could be causing this. First, if the holes on the S9B are being covered by skin or something else that blocks the baro sensor. I can have this problem if I wear on my right hand, when I flex my wrist it covers the holes and I get wrong readings ±D. Second is wind, if it is very windy and directly hits the baro sensor the ±D can be wrong.

some days I caught wind, but it happened on sunny days and good weather.
I can try to wear it on my right wrist.
I did factory reset again.
if covering the watch with the waterproof can be a problem?
Thank you for help -

@Luis-Duarte can you try to have your watch under your sleeve and see if anything happen? Or switch position of S9 and A3 next time (so that the baro opening will be blocked for the A3 and not for the S9)?
-
@Luis-Duarte
Are you syncing your S9b activities to SuuntoApp with Android smartphone? -
@Mff73 yes
-
@isazi ok thanks
I’m go to try it -
@Luis-Duarte said in problems with my S9B:
@Mff73 yes
So.
there are raw data files you may use and import them in QS, maybe you could see something interesting (registered altitude vs GPS altitude for example)
See here where to find this file.

As I see. You use a rain jacket for you’re workout.
Sadly the hole of barometer sensor of S9 is not at the same place of A3 Peak.
I think you’re jacket came to touch the S9 hole during you’re run.
Try to use S9 over the jacket. Or on the left wrist but try to don’t touch it with your hand. -
The problem is here
The sensor, comes into contact with the jacket and pushes the sensor.
-
I believe that @Luis-Duarte has the watch since christmas maybe he has runs without jacket and that this issue may be recurrent.
If S9B is so sensitive to jackets how runners do? -
@Mff73 thanks

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I don’t remember training without the raincoat but it is possible that it happened.
I will have attention in the future…
since March I have not run on the mountain again.
now I came back and the problem happened again
But if that is the problem it is a big mistake for a top suunto watch.
I hope to solve the problem
thank you all -
