Closing of Movescount is delayed further to 2021

@kabzior I could be wrong but I believe that once you have set up your SA account and synced your S9B, you cannot sync Moves to Movescount. There is not too much point in trying as it would be only a winter dalliance: the Movescount web service is going to be “sent to live on a farm” next year.
There’s not much in analysis terms that MC will do for your S9B activities that SA/QS won’t. And MC hasn’t had altitude for routing for a while, nor is there any sign of its imminent return.
It still does POIs … but they are promised for SA, so if you’re not in a hurry for that …

Hello,
Thanks for this news !!
I have a Suunto Ambit 2, this is a really good and strong watch, perfect !
For the next year, I thinking to buy a new one, Suunto 9 probaly, not Suunto 7 due to google OS. But clearly, in case of Movescount will be delete, I should buy a Garmin for sure.I love Movescount for those reasons:
- Tags function (used to follow material usage : shoes, tires, bike chain)
- Analysis of run by web interface (select part of run, then analyse : speed, time, power, heartrate, …)
- Only one website to track my activities, to set my watch and prepare new trace.
Are you able to update “Sport Tracker” in same way as Movescount ??
Regards,
-

Don’t get me wrong - I am not trying to switch from SA to MC, I just wanted to take a look on what I am missing. I still want to use SA and that is why I am not even considering removing SA and installing MC, I just wanted to upload my existing activities to MC and take a look on stats.

I was hoping mainly for Personal Bests history/analysis since I can not find it anywhere (without subscription).

you can sync Sports-Tracker with Movescount. I’m sure the sync goes from MC to Suunto app but I’m not sure if goes from ST to MC
I don’t think so, in description it says data goes only in one direction MC -> ST

If you can’t view your own “Personal Bests history/analysis”, perhaps someone in the forum can take a screenshot or seven?
Perhaps it’s best you don’t get a brief, enticing hit of something soon to be finished …

Personal bests subsection has been removed from movescount.com few months ago
Only “Annual progress” is still accessible.

OK then, thanks, that concludes my efforts, no point in pursuing something that will not show me what I want
I guess I just have to pay for Endomondo if I want to take a look at my PBs and their history -
@kabzior even if you need to manually tag your best runs as “races”, it’s fairly easy to do in Runalyze (and it’s free). Then you get a nice chart with your PB over time.

I have tried several times with no luck and TBH it is just to complicated for me, I feel overwhelmed with all that data and charts and options…
-
Runalyze is good, but it is not as good as MC to track progress. To me the MC web feature where you could filter all your moves by distance and HR range was outstanding. Sadly that is not available elsewhere.

Thanks for confirming that, i thought i was blind, and i did not want to believe that you can not modify your HR zones in a sport tracker…
This is a B A S I C functional and I don’t realy know why Suunto Team ignoring it. And tag function that helps to group activities in SA too! This is totaly nonsense!

I have a Suunto Ambit3 Peak and recently moved to Suunto.app.
It is a pleasant surprise to see that the watch, still has all the functions by using the Suunto.app and Movescount together.
-
Sorry man to say it, with all due respect, but your either are not aware of what Your watch is capable of doing, or you are a paid bot, to post here false positive messages.
(I still support Suunto in his digital transition )
-
@Gábor-Tóth that’s no good to call a person a bot just because he has a different opinion (and you can check user’s profile - doesn’t look like a paid bot to me at all)
-
How nice of suunto to still let us use the watches we paid for. Such a generosity. Unbelievable.
-
@Prenj hey now, can’t even acknowledge that this was positive news for the ambit users? As opposed to the messaging that has been communicated thus far I would say this is pretty positive.
-
@stromdiddily I’d love to be more positive but this is just postponing the end. And as it seems this was done primarily because of Iphones and their failing of bluetooth and no way to add POI-s for Spartans. So no, it doesn’t give me any hope. I still don’t see any will from suunto’s side to support ambit3 fully even though they are still selling it.
Excuse me for not being over the moon for having what I paid for little longer. I’ll give them credit when they really show some effort to fully support ambit3.

@Prenj
If not being positive, could we imagine not to have to read all those negative ones? At least until 2021? No offence, but it is so waste of time for you to write and us to read again and again. I don’t block any post in case there is something interesting, but temptation is high. -
@Mff73 It’s a free world. Be my guest. If you don’t like what I write block me. I’m gonna express my feelings toward suunto’s unfair treatment of their customers until they change it or ban me. That’s the least I can do. When they sell the watch, the story is not over, it’s a two way process. They sell the watch with all the features offered and we customers give them our trust. So when they remove some of the features that were part of watch they sold let them be prepared to get some feedback because the trust is lost.
So when I see the excitement that Suunto is “still” letting buyers of their current watches enjoy their watches in full potential (well not so full after they removed route altitude profile from movescount, but that’s another story) I’ll make sure to add some insight from people that miss some of the crucial features now removed or soon to be removed by Suunto.
So just to save yourself from having to argue with me for feeling cheated by Suunto, just block me. I won’t mind.

No one is going to ban you. I don’t remember you insulting other people, and I don’t see you hijacking other people’s threads to make your point. So far, banning is only reserved to spammers.
