So, what are you going to do after Movescount closes?
-
-
Thank you I didn’t receive it.
Reformulation without bullshit : “We have now confirmed the new schedule for the final slaughtering of Ambit3 users, which means that your settings will soon can only be done with a computer and cable so don’t forget any setting before going outside. Furthermore, you will not be able to use structured workouts with a simple GUI anymore on your mobile phone, as it was indicated when you buy the watch, but you will need to use Suunto Apps and develop programming skills to setup your workouts. Be happy to use 20x more time than using Movescount App which do the job because we decided to throw it to trash bin”.
Hopefully, some guys provides useful tools in this crappy situation when Suunto is unable to do it. Take a look at Wanarun if you need help for structured workouts in Suunto Apps.

Thanks, I didn’t knew that tool, only ambit intervals .
-
@andré-faria Thank you too , ambit intervals seems very interesting and I didn’t know it.
-
I own S9B and happy with the suunto App. Before that I used an Ambit.
I really enjoy the routing function in the app. Garmins own tool is a nightmare.
My issues with suunto is rather that my high end gadget cant handle complex intervals. The GPS in SB9 is not working that great either. For that I bought a Stryd, but the Interval function is a deal breaker for me in the long run.
Think I will try a Polar when the time comes.
-
Will use my Ambit as long as possible.
I run using a Stryd and row using a custom app to display speed. This is all fully working, so for me this transition is not a big deal anymore. I still think the Ambit is modern and a cool watch, so no real reason to replace it.
-
Due to the transition to the Suunto App I’ve some questions. Will thankfull for the answers
- Where will moves store phisically - somewhere in the Web or in a smartphone? I wouldn’t waste phone memory for this.
- How will I be able to view and manage moves - through some Web-interface or Suunto App only?
- I use Ambit 3. As I’ve understood I will have possibility to setup the watches via movescount.com, but will have no access to moves archive and no possibility to upload new moves. That is the site will live but the most of functions will be disabled?

1- 100% will be saved in SuuntoApp cloud + xx% of data will be dowloaded in your phone to make the app working. If you feel that App storage on phone grows to much in the time, disconnect and reconnect and storage will be cleaned with only data needed to work.
2- New moves only in SA after transition
3- Old moves will still be seeable in MC web (as far as i understand), but no new moves will go there. The site will stay minimum, to see old activities and setup old legacy watches -
Is there something coming regarding Movescount routing functionality and elevation profile on February 9th, the date that Digital Service Transition seems to end? No speculation please(!), it’s only 6 days anyway
-
@janfi you are welcome to be unhappy regarding the changes coming but please keep the rhetoric and language civil. Suunto employees do read this forum and they are people. This is not a vendetta by Suunto directed toward you!

It’s directed toward all of us?

Ok. Movescount site doesn’t work anymore. Big horror.
To view moves with the mobile phone is ridiculous in comparison to view them in my big PC screen. And what about the data of the apps created by the users in Movescount side?? Is it not possible to download data apps??
I have a cadence detector for my bike and the new Sunto app only gives cadence average. Is it not possible to see a graph of cadence vs time???
I have the sensation that my Ambit3 is useless now.

Have you tried to make sa sync for another 3rd party?
-
@andré-faria Yes thanks. Normally I use Strava and Training Peaks and it is no bad.
The problem is with the graphics for app data. These are not possible to graph.
The only possibility would be to download the app data and graph them with any kind of data treatment package. -

Does anybody know if there is any plan to support those app data (in the graph of the move) in the near future? -
@sebchastang I completely agree with you. And if there is not any plan to support those app data at least, they could give the possibility to download the app data and so we could use an external program to represent the data.
Perhaps they have not enough software to do the calculations (I suppose the calculated files for apps are stocked at their site), perhaps they want to sell other products, perhaps…
I imagine that users will never know the truth because they aren’t never going tell us.

Suunto App has been seriously improved during the past months but it really lacks support of Suunto Apps data.
Some people around this forum kindly suggest me to use other tools like “openambit” or “golden cheetah” but it seems a bit complicated.
We need a single place to handle our moves and associated data.I was a bit frustrated to lose route creation functionality in movescount web (due to loss of ascent and descent info) but there are other tools / websites to do it and we can also manage by using import / export GPX functionnality in SA, movescount and others sites.
But we have no alternative for Suunto Apps data. Those data seems not to be synced with SuuntoLink or SA .
I don’t understand why it is so complicated to include those apps data in the graph of the move in SA. Each custom apps has a result and it is recorded just like other data (speed, distance, …)
It should have been taken into account from the beginning. We can consider a new app for managing data but not for losing data! -
@ramón-castañer-botella cadence should be there
-
Yes thanks. I’ve found it. The problem is that all in the mobile phone screen all things are small and difficult to find.
It is ridiculous to change for a display in a big PC screen of 21 inches or more to a small screen of 7 inches at maximum. -
@francescobaldi It is simply a business decision. And it is a watch, not someone’s life or health. I just think there should be some perspective on this.
