Syncing Suunto 7
-
@Pete-Nevard I don’t know if it’s using more battery, but pressing close is the way to end the activity for good, and have it sent to the app.
-
@isazi that’s great, I’ll give that a try tomorrow. Thank you so much for the info and the prompt replies

@Pete-Nevard let us know!

I found this too.
When in this situation, it helps to start up the app again and go back with the top left button.
It will then sync.
Since the finished activity is not waiting there to be “closed” I would rate this a bug… -
@Pete-Nevard or alternatively when reviewing the activity of your watch swipe from left to right across your screen (that should also close it - it is also generally the back swipe too.).
Pressing menu/home button does exactly that, take you to home watch face. Anything you are currently running, will continue to run in background, until wear os automatically closes. Usually sliding up the notification screen will show you any app still running in background and enable you to open it from there, by pressing on it.
Auto close shouldn’t happen on any active app i.e .tracking etc, but may do it on a app that has finished running i.e. take a HR reading, then press home to allow it to run in background while you do something else. When you go to notification shade will not be there, but if you go to HR readings you will see that it has completed.

Thank you all for the responses and the info about correctly closing the app down… I’d never thought that by pressing the home button it would allow it to run in the background, I just assumed that it would close it but makes sense not to.
I tracked the school run this morning and when finished scrolled all the way to the bottom and pressed close, when I went into the app it synced pretty much straight away and said there was a new activity
I’ll try the process of swiping it away when I go on the school run this arvo and see what it does!
Thanks again all, greatly appreciated

@Pete-Nevard swiping away will have the same effect you noticed before…
-
@Egika so this doesn’t stop/close the activity then?
-
@Pete-Nevard only based on my personal experience.
After stopping the activity I noticed the same behavior you found, that the watch won’t sync to the app.
This has happened arbitrarily when either pressing the upper left button or swiping from left to right. It always helped to enter and the directly leave the Wear App on the watch.
Scolling down in the summary of the activity after ending it, and tapping “close” always enabled the sync. -
I had the exact same “problem” and it was because I pressed the top left button and thus let the Suunto app still running. Closing the Suunto app by swiping left to right is the quickest way to exit and close the Suunto app. Or you can scroll down and select close as an alternative. Both should exit the app.

Thanks again for all your replies, I didn’t get a chance to try the swipe on the school run (was running late, no punn intended, and forgot to start it) so will try tomorrow. Either which way I now know I need to properly close it for it to be able to sync
Appreciate you time and assistance peeps!

Morning all.
Just wanted to confirm that swiping the data screen away after the activity worked for me, when I went on the app it automatically started to sync
Thanks again all and have a good day
