I don't have a smartphone ...
-
@isazi Brilliant, job done. A mate set me up with an account and then deleted the app. I synced my watch through Suuntolink, linked QS to the account and sure enough, they are there. Much better than my clumsy effort!!
-
@eeonefivebee glad to help. I understand that if you don’t have a smartphone this “mobile first” Suunto policy may suck, but I hope you’ll be able to keep using your watch for long.
-
@isazi - is there any watch maker now that does still offer web option, that doesn’t have to go through a smartphone app first?
-
@Jamie-BG I actually don’t know as I only used watches from Garmin and Suunto, and I do have a smartphone.
-
@Jamie-BG My better half has a garmin that syncs via the web, and, when I was looking at possible alternatives in case Suunto turned my Ambit into a brick, it looked like Polar offered the option of a web service as well as smartphone app.
-
@eeonefivebee Another alternative is to purchase a used iPodTouch or an old smartphone and just don’t enable the phone features. You could likely get one inexpensively and it would solve the problem.

Extremely good idea, just not too old and restricted OS-wise or it might not be able to run newer (& future) versions of the App?
-
@eeonefivebee not suprised that companies are moving away from websites, as it is so much easier to just sync you watch and phone. So effortless compared to using cables etc.

I guess Garmin. In fact on edge units they ask you to connect to Garmin connect by you can do everything without it (at least on my side )

You could also try bluestacks, my daughter uses it to play android games on her computer, might work with suunto app as well.
