      Hi everybody,

first of all I’m new to this forum, so I’m sorry if this is not the right group to post this question. I recently bought an Ambit2 R for a really good price in a sale and I’m still figuring out how to set up custom sport modes. One of the main reasons I decided for this watch instead of just buying a simple €30 heart rate watch was that it seemed to be able to set up more copmplex interval trainings.

However, the default mode just lets you set up two different interval times or distances. Now I would like to do more complex interval trainings, for example the following: 10 minutes warm up -> (1 minute high intensity -> 3 minutes low intensity ) (x5) -> 10 minutes cool down.

The community apps I found on movescount that seem to have more complex interval settings all seem to work with distance, not time. Can anybody recommend an app that works with time? Or guide me through the process of manipulating existing apps to do what I want? Some links to resources would be most appreciated.

      Thank you!

@Timbo , http://www.ambitintervals.com/ does exactly that - generates apps for structured intervals.Going through Why & How should give you a solid start.

Best general resource is the developer manual that is linked in app designer - http://content.static.movescount.com/downloads/SuuntoAppZoneDeveloperManual.pdf . This should give you a bit better understanding of whole logic behind apps & set limitations, also the reasons behind ambitintervals.com generated code (e.g why are there 2 apps and why you still need to press lap button yourself)

@margusl Right, this is exactly what I wanted indeed! Thank you so much.

I think it’s really great that the whole Ambit seems to be open source, I’m looking forward to build some custom apps once I get a better understanding of how the coding for the Ambit works. Doesn’t look to complicated at first glance.

Are the later Suunto watch models open source as well?

@Timbo , ummm… in most cases I would avoid “Suunto” and “open” in the same sentence 🙂

Are you aware of https://www.suunto.com/Content-pages/digital-service-transition/?setcountry=en ? The future of those apps and pretty much anything related to Movescount is not exactly clear at the moment.
