given Google Music is being retired in favour of YouTube music see the link.
How is this going to affect the way we store and play music from the Suunto 7?

Let’s see if the changes open or add new partners in the Suunto 7.
I use my own files so is not a big deal for me.

@meyton89 I’m pretty sure we will see a rebranded Google Music app for Wear OS in coming months working against the YouTube Music infrastructure.
Seriously doubt Google would let its watches go without an ability to sync subscription music. At this point, Wear OS is in such a bad place, they can’t afford any more missteps.

It’s not affecting you @Bulkan ?
I will not be possible to upload mp3s to Youtube Music and use it as a simple free library, unless you have a paid subscription for it. It means one of the main benefits of the Suunto7 almost evaporates: listening to music offline without phone.
There will certainly be (il)legal paid services to transfer mp3s or Spotify tunes to Youtube Music though. Such a bummer again.
Can someone well informed at Suunto comment on the topic? Thanks!

@Romain-Sassareu There are plenty of free or very cheap Wear OS MP3 players that support sync of your music library from the phone for offline playback on the watch. Some are arguably cleaner and less bug-ridden than Google Music. That being said, not providing a single, seamless well-designed interface for both purchased and subscription music like pretty much any other smartwatch platform does is a head scratcher.
Wear OS more and more reminds me of older day Windows Phone. Death by neglect and constant rebranding and pivoting.

@NickK Yes, let’s hope a clean market consolidation occurs at some point.
