@lohtse I must have missed it. Fairly confident the last communication stated that Movescount would remain for watch settings updates and route creation/syncing for Ambit series watches.
You read something I haven’t?
Had a conversation on phone to tech support. I asked about mini apps and what will happen with them. They stated that they would end when movescount is fazed out.
So sad to read that…
Yep thats one of the reasons I have been complaining so much here on the forum…Movescount works…yet is being discontinued… You will require sunnto app and access to movescount web(until closed) and third party website/apps to do what we onces could and even then it will nolonger be a fully functioning watch. With the move to suunto app I have too install additional apps so I can use MY HRM one the phone where I once could use it in the movescount app… We have to install an app that has virtually no functionally with are watches other than too sync data…yet is quite large once install, so is taking up valuable space without giving much back. And to do what we could with the movescount system(app/wed) you will have to install further apps which waste even more space… We have LOST far too much usability and functionality and we will NEVER get it back… THANK YOU FOR NOTHING SUUNTO

@lohtse yeah, losing the apps does suck. I never used them but can definitely understand the frustration there.
I honestly don’t remember, were we able to actually update watch settings directly in the Movescount app? Or did the app just allow for updates made on the browser to sync automatically/via bluetooth?
I’m with you on not fully grasping while any of these sync technology can’t be ported over to the app. Perhaps viewed as throw away work that they’re not willing to commit resources to.

@stromdiddily Yes, it was possible, at least for the Traverse. But I used to customize sport modes through movescount.com (more comfortable on a big screen)
-
@sebchastang I imagine same was possible then for Ambit series. Cheers!

Both. But for routes and POI-s just the browser and sync by BT or cable.

Yes you could change settings in the app for Ambit 3s, Same as you could use foot pods, bike pods and HR Monitirs Directly in the app with out the need to connect it to the watch, something that has not been added to the lovely useless Suunto App…
Something else that is bothering me…Why can’t we have a fully functioning movescount web and Suunto App??? Not perfect but better than it is going to be, At least we would keep full functionality of the watches…

@lohtse don’t think so, i’ve used SportsTracker as free online, pretty basic tool to track my run with my phone before i had my Ambit3 few years ago. And i had paired up Movescout with SportsTracker. But agree: SportsTracker, as well as SuuntoApp is sooo basic, nothing to compare to Movescout online.

@lohtse
Guys I’m totally new to this forum so would appreciate some clarification. I have been an Ambit3 Sport user for some Time now and love the watch. I synced via Movescount And then collected all my training into Training Peaks. Very happy customer !
Now I tried SuuntoApp and have
a) no data from my vector3 power pedals (it’s definitely still stored on the watch but not synced to the App and so I don’t get it in Training Peaks
b) my swim data used to keep only moving time in Movescount. Now with SuuntoApp it’s total time only. This means all the TSS calls in Training Peaks are worthless. Are these issues known or am I doing something stupid ?
Will a newer Suunto watch solve these issues ?
Should I just change to Polar and forget Suunto (not because of the watch but because of SuuntoApp)? -

Sadly you are not being stupid…Suunto does not sseem to think ambit owners need that data anylonger try using https://quantified-self.io/
now idea about newer watch.,… but then you should not have to change when it worked perfectly before Suunto screwed us…

This is known and a fix is being worked on according to @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos - I haven’t seen an ETA for the fix.
Not sure about the swimming one; although that will be a real nuisance for me since at least with power I can use the files from my cycling head unit (messy workflow but better than nothing…)
Interestingly Movescount App worked all day for me yesterday and is still working today - I don’t plan on switching until either Movescount App refuses to work or the power (and now swimming…) bugs are fixed.
-
@amasidlover Hoping that they definitively forgot to turn off the MC App server side, as they forgot to turn off movescount study and as they forgot old customer care
As this I love the digital transition -
@Janfi apparently the transition will be longer, and they are not shutting down everything yesterday as planned.
-
@michaeldwilson enjoy running with the web interface!
-
@isazi ah you broke my heart if it’s only longer…
-
@Janfi someone said 2021 at least. More news coming at the end of the week. Search the forum for more discussion, but some discussion may break your heart.

Yay!! Thanks!!!

Both the App and MovesCount habe been worth due to the transition:
- I cannot see the Moves on MC anymore, but just plan a route, et set the watch parameter.
- The App makes it impossible to set the watch parameters, to download a GPS track, to modify the GPS points, …
- The App shows very strange HR-Profiles, like a crazy saw, what was not the case on MovesCount.
- The App calculates the run distance new, after the upload of the track: 10,0 km on the watch, 9,71 on the App. It makes me crazy.
It would really stay only on MovesCount, with all the functions and possibility it offered ! And with the easyness on PC, compared to a Smartphone display…

@Bruno-Jacq are you using iOS ? I think there is a bug when editing an activity that it changes the distance… can this be it ?
