3D distance [Ambit 3 Peak]
-
Hi!
How often do you use 3D distance?
Do you use it only for mountaineering or skiing or also for trail running? -
@Marcin-Byrtek occasionally I do hiking and rarely I do trail running so I have, at least I asume I have, 3D distance enabled. I’m saying “I asume” because here is the interesting things: in Ambit3 Vertical user guide it says:
To deactivate 3D distance:
- While in a sport mode, keep Next pressed to enter the options menu.
- Scroll to ACTIVATE with Light Lock and press Next.
- Scroll to 3D distance and press Next to switch to 2D distance.
- Keep Next pressed to exit.
in Ambit3 Peak user guide it says:
To activate 3D distance:
- While in a sport mode, keep Next pressed to enter the options menu.
- Scroll to ACTIVATE with Light Lock and press Next.
- Scroll to 3D distance and press Next to switch to 3D distance.
- Keep Next pressed to exit.
Now in Vertical menu you will have 3D distance or 2D distance for the mentioned menu item depending what you activated previously: if menu says 3D distance and you press Next the text will switch to 2D distance, and if you press Next on 2D distance text will switch to 3D distance. Now go figure out how it is working based on the two user guides.
So I asume since the menu says ACTIVATE that when text says 3D distance then 2D distance is active and when menu text displays 2D distance then actually 3D distance is active.
Maybe @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos can report this to Suunto to correct one of the user guide because it doesn’t make sense (at least for my logic). -
@andrasveres said in 3D distance [Ambit 3 Peak]:
So I asume since the menu says ACTIVATE that when text says 3D distance then 2D distance is active and when menu text displays 2D distance then actually 3D distance is active
hahaha and be smart here
In my opinion this is the correct : “So I asume since the menu says ACTIVATE that when text says 3D distance then 2D distance is active and when menu text displays 2D distance then actually 3D distance is active”
In manual for Vertical it says also that in default its ON.
-
@Marcin-Byrtek yeah right, default is on, but what if you got your Vertical used or tested by someone (like mine) and wasn’t set up by you?
Maybe I could reset at some point my watch to see how is the default ON state
