Suunto 7 with Suunto OS (Baro 9 i.e.)
-
I would like to have the Suunto 7 hardware with the Suunto 9 BARO software (plus it’s actual features - STRYD, HR belt and some features later, maps …). Someone else?

Buy both, like me
Let’s hope in S11 or S9 G2.
Wait and we’ll see -

You more or less have it, and its the S9 Baro…I mean hardware wise and materials/construction both are excellent. The differences are in OHR and Screen mainly.
OHR of S7 is an improvement regarding the S9 according to the different opinions and reviews, so I guess that the replacement of the S9 will have this OHR but as per my case I do not use OHR, I use belt. I do outside sports (run, trail and MTB) and in winter I do not see how to use the OHR…
The screen of the S7 seems that it is excellent but I guess battery consumption it is also high and I think that it is not sapphire glass. S9 screen is readable and low power consumption.

@cosmecosta It’s definitely the screen I love (yes, and the design). I’m 50+ and the S9BARO screen is only readable to me in bright light conditions. A3/A2 are still great, but the smaller the information on the screen the more it depends on the contrast and backlight. The S7 was “enlightening” for me in every situation, but the WearOS made me sell it again…
So I’m still in the line for some great combination of great hardware and reliable, ever-lasting (battery-wise) software.

@johann-fuehrer I think we’re still few years away from something like the S7 having the battery life of the S9. If it was possible, I’d buy the device today.

@isazi
You say? I’m not that pessimistic. I look at the huawei GT2 that my father has, I would never buy it, but it has a spectacular autonomy, even if it is not wearOS, with a screen almost as beautiful as that of S7. Almost.
So think of a less energy-consuming wearOS, I think it’s possible, and maybe the first versions of solid-state batteries. In my opinion, in a year or two … -
SD 3300 is made in 28nm process (it’s like dinosaur in cpu world , cortex -a7) . It consumes a lot of energy . Rumour say that next generation will be made in 12 nm. It should have less appetite for energy .

@Maryn
right, that’s true too.
