S9B BLACK SCREEN
-
Just some minutes ago my S9B went to screen sleep, so black screen, but it wasn’t able to wake up with the wirst movement. If I pushed the buttons the watch vibrated but the screen was still black. I managed to do a soft reset and luckly the screen woke up.
Has anybody faced the same issue?
-
@cosmecosta
knock on wood, mine is doing fine! hope it was a one time issue for you -
@cosmecosta
I just had the same issue right now.
At 23% I had a reminder to charge my battery, for the next training, but I didn’t do this.
After two hours, when I wanted to check what time is it, the screen was completly black without any response after pressing the buttons.
After 12 seconds off pressing the the upper button, the watch back to life (with the same percent, 23%) ️ -
@Chindris-Bogdan That was a soft reset, so you should not lose anything. I will try to run an S9b battery down and see what happens. Been a long time since I had a black screen.
-
Second time when the battery was between 10-20% (i remember that I had a notification: Training soon? Don’t forget to charge the battery 16%), and after some time, the screen was blank (the watch was in the watch mode, without activity).
Again a soft reset, and after he started. The battery was at 13%.
.It begins to be frustrating… -
@Chindris-Bogdan if you feel there is something wrong with your watch, you better contact support.

It seems I got the same issue, this morning my S9B got a black screen, I thought it was out of battery, but the HR light still getting flash, but I cannot get the screen back to work.
So I did a 12s reboot and the screen back to normal.
-
Then today it was my turn to have this!
-
@isazi
I think everyone gets his/her chance -
Well, yesterday I had a black screen again. I had to do a soft reset to wake the screen up.
I couldn’t send logs because I wasn’t at home. But it happened while I was sitting in a table talking with friends. I guess, that for some reason, when the watch enters in deep sleep it is not able to turn the screen on. The buttons were working, with the vibration working.
-
@cosmecosta how was your battery level before it happened?
-
@isazi it was 23%, and after restart it was still 23%.
-
@cosmecosta so similar to my recent case, went to sleep and the battery was in the twenties, screen (most probably) went blank because I did not move, and the bug occurred.

I have had the same problem; I went to sleep and at the wake up I have seen black screen. I have resolved with soft reset.
Luckily only one time from the end of december…I don’t remeber the level battery… -
Hi to all. This morinig at the wake up I have had the same problem (black screen); I remember that the battery was around 48% when I went to sleep. Next time I will try to send the log with Suuntolink.

3 days old S9 Ambassador. This morning blank screen not responding to anything. Battery was in the 60. Holding the up button for looong then the watch made a sound and the watchface was shown. The recovery was affected but the sleep info seams ok. Sent the logs to Suunto. Hope this is SW issue and i do not have to return the watch.
-
@hristijan-petreski Are you in the last firmware? Last time it happened to me was on February.
-
@cosmecosta Yes latest firmware and very new watch (only 3 days). I sent some more details to @isazi and looking forward to share any findings. Great support and forum btw.

Hello. Last night this issue happend to my S9B, which is just a few days old since delivery.
I could solve the issue with a soft reset. Just to let you know - with the actual software the issue is still there. (When it isn’t a hardware fault). When it happens again, I will contact the support. -

This time I could see a gap in the HR monitor graphic from the point of interruption until my soft reset.
You know. I am a bit sad because my Suunto 9 (non Baro) never had this issue. Now my sister got the watch
I really hope a new sw release will fix it.
This time I also made a hard reset with the option to send the watch too deep sleep after reset.
I woken it up and configured again.
