S7 For iOS Tips

thank you for your help here.
She’s got the wear OS app on the phone and activated. I’ll double check tomorrow if it’s working properly -
@freeheeler don’t forget to whitelist both apps.
-
@jamie-bg how do you do this in iOS?

This does not apply to iOS

I’ve checked every setup and setting on her phone. Everything is allowed, ticked, toggled green etc… but for some reason the iphone doesn’t like her S7 the same as her old sony phone did
notifications randomly aren’t being pushed to the watch (calls, messages, calendars etc.) and when she wants to sync it sometimes needs to search for the watch first.
I think I’m going to try a reinstallation of SA and Wear OS again. Hope I’m lucky -
I had same problem with titanium S7, I sent it back for repair. Biggest problem for me on titanium model that If i disable share location with phone it never locks gps even after 30minutes on clear sky. My regular S7 steel model sync without a problem and locks gps without iPhones help and fast. Could be some trouble with antenna. Try different positions and try putting one on top of another if you can find a way to precisely reproduce problem then let service know about it.

@freeheeler For notifications, these need to show on the lock screen not as a banner but until dismissed. Only those will show on the watch. In wear OS the notifications selected will not show if blocked in the System preferences. If the S7 sleeps, you can lose the BT connection. Have you rebooted the phone? In Settings/WearOS is location set to always? Is BT on as well?

@lexterm77 I have both titanium and steel models, both work without issue.

thanks for your inputs.
Everything works fine, but not always and not reliably.
BT is always on, phone rebooted, location set to always etc…
I don’t think that it is the watch, because it worked fine with Android and I would assume that it would have been an issue on Android already if the watch wasn’t ok.
But since I’ve got a backup S7 myself, I’ll set mine up on my wifes phone and she can use my watch for some time to try and observe. -
Don’t forget iOS has bugs and larvae sometimes.

@lexterm77
honestly I expected iOS to be the most reliable OS for phones
I’ll investigate more, even if it is not that easy as I need to steal the phone and watch from my wife every time -
@freeheeler
are you working on n+1 watches process ‘like for bikes and skis’ ? -
@mff73
no, actually the S7 was just my backup while the S9B was in service and I did not manage yet to resell the S7
I need to do that before a potential successor of my S9B is announced -
