Why S5 doesn't track sleeping suddenly
-
Usually watch says Good Morning, when I’m waking up and then there are statistics about last nights sleep. Well today if I check the Sleep-page in watch, it only says that Sleep was not tracked last night (sentence might be wrong: I’m using finnish language)
I haven’t changed any settings concerning Sleep…and I did sleep in the sleeping zone that was set, I’d guess it’s a bug.
-
@Jesse-Havusela I would try another night first. If it does not work anymore, it needs investigation, but I would say that a single event may just be that, a single event in which the watch wasn’t able to detect sleep. It probably happened to most users.

@Jesse-Havusela
Did you try a soft reset ?
Was the watch tightened as usual ? -
@sartoric I tried soft reset now that I know about such thing, it didn’t fix the problem though, I hope next morning goes normally.
I keep the watch little higher on the arm so that wrist movements don’t affect watch position…yes it was like I normally wear it. There hasn’t been problems with hr-sensor while awake so I don’t think it is the solution.
Thanks for trying to help anyway.
-
@Jesse-Havusela hey does your watch record steps. Can you show us some picture, what it records etc?
-
I called to the Suunto customer service and after answering questions they had, all they could tell me is to do hard reset, which I wasn’t too happy about, still I did it and now after couple of nights the sleep tracking has been working again, I really hope it will work in the future now.
I could still take the watch back to the place I bought it from and get my money back for some other watch. Suunto did have good a image in my mind but there is another problem that needs to be solved, I can’t help saying I’m a little disappointed.
-
there is another problem that needs to be solved
which one ?
Anyway, don’t be unsatisfied, return it.
You won’t never be happy if these are the premises (I mean you not happy about it from the beginning) you’ll only see cons despite the pros -
@Jesse-Havusela hey Jesse I am a bit worried that there is a HW issue with your watch.
Disappointment understood well.
Could you check if the watch tracks steps ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos It tracks “steps” normally (I read somewhere that they are more like activity points because you get steps without walking, just doing something with the hand that has the watch)
-
The only suspicion I have is that it’s a HW issue. Perhaps the accelerometer is stuck or so.
