Thanks for your help! Appreciate it!

If anyone has any tips on how to download your own data from your watch, I’m all ears!

@TELE-HO the JSON files should just contain the raw version of the activity recording.

ok, but then there will be some more files known in the future that feed the 24/7 HR graph… but should be there already as @Nicholas-Tierney says with the sleep, steps and calories…

So I’m really confused about suunto and movescount and suuntolink.

If I have the “suuntolink” application on my laptop, I thought I could sync my data to someplace where I could see all my data, and (hopefully) download it…but that doesn’t seem to be the case?

@Nicholas-Tierney not sure which watch you do have, but I use Suuntolink to update the firmware of my S9 only, and then the Suunto app to synchronize activities and day to day stats. According to rumors on this forum, on iOS heart rate data are already synchronized to Apple Health, so maybe if you have an iPhone you can download something from there.

                  thanks for that, @isazi

I have a Suunto Spartan Trainer and an android phone

I was really hoping for some simple solution where I can just get my data, but if I understand correctly I need to:

                  • Download each activity manually from the suunto app on my android
                  • upload that somewhere online
                  • download that file
                  • parse that file

Does that sounds like I’ve got that right?

And then it looks like I don’t have access to my calory/sleep/step info?

I would say yes at the moment…
but what you can do is, connect quantified-self.io to your Suunto App and you have at least laptop view of your data and you can do there much more with it.

@Nicholas-Tierney maybe you can ask Suunto [1] to give you access to all your data, but as other GDPR abiding companies you’ll probably get a snapshot of everything they have about you up to a certain point, while I guess you want more of a stream of those data.

@TELE-HO Thanks for that! quantified self looks super neat! I can’t seem to connect to them from my phone app, though? Unless they are under another name?

sorry… you need to login to QS and from there you can connect to your phone’s SA
                          …it is a fantastic tool!

                            @isazi Thanks!

Yup, I was hoping I could collect some of my own data to do some of my own analysis on my sleep with other things in my life.

This is quite surprising to say the least…but at least the GDPR means that they have to give me my data if I ask them?

@Nicholas-Tierney yes, it means that, but it’s not a practical way for what you plan on doing, unless you want to continuously send emails with GDPR requests to access your data.

There is API support for Steps etc. Not sure about 24/7 hr as its not “officially available”

I am the author of QS but I have not thought about importing or exporting that data, as many users tend to thing about them as uselless.
