Suunto 9 - FW update - Sport customization and BT devices lost :-(
-
After receiving a notification, I have updated my Suunto 9 to the latest FW release.
As in the previous update, you are not only loosing the recorded exercises (which is not an issue as long as those can be synchronized with the app) but what is really frustrating is that you are also loosing all the sport customization and the linked Bluetooth devices
Is there a way to save those settings into the app? -
@Feyroce I have ‘only’ lost all my customized Sport modes. BT Connection and history was still available.
Yepp, really annoying, that each FW update brings some Troubles … -
I invite you to read this test Suunto 9

I have no S9, but a SpartanUltra.
I have personally never lost any sportsmode after a FW update.
Strange you are experiencing that.
Was it just an upgrade, or a total reset?
BTW, your issue should have been solved with a backup feature in SA. -
@Mff73 I can confirm that customisation of modes is list after a ‘regular’ update (e.g. in Basic Mode (Running): Touchscreen is deactivated again, Stryd/Pod is once more set on Footpod-mode and no longer the Powerpod-Mode I prefer etc.), while all connected sensors are still connected and fully operational.
BTW - as far as I remember this always happened when performing a FW-upgrade.And as SA for me is still not able to replace MC (web), I sync the activities via BT to SA and do all planning etc in the much better to use MC-website, which is still more reliable and in line with the watch concerning HF-zones and other values, that are obviously interpreted differently by SA.
The above mentioned changes connected to the FW-Upgrade are not ‘fixed’ by synchronisation with SA and/or MC.
