Nov transition update

@Ennoch just to make sure and perhaps help here.
With POIS are we talking about POI POIS right ? Not waypoints on a route correct? ( a little sanity check sorry) âŠ
And at what platform are you on (Android / iOS ) ?
-
Yeah, advanced creation of POIâs as standalone navigation points which are not part of a route (i.e. I know where Iâm aiming for but want a marker for an escape gully off the route of a mountain, or a hut, or an avalanche box etc). I use these all the time when I need to know the location of something but could be coming at it from any direction and thus am not interested in a pre-plotted route to get there. POI POIS in other words!
Iâm running iOS.

I ll stay on this. I cannot âsafely predict when pois come to iOSâ. I could hint you regarding my team though (Android) and I kinda did (could have been more specific).
I am sorry

Wow, just wow, I still canât believe Suunto are pushing so hard for the removal of a platform while not providing users with an at least comparable replacement - itâs simply bullying tactics and I donât respond well to behaviours like that, not when Iâm invested either financially or emotionally. Interestingly under the Amer Sports banner sit Mavic, Arcteryx and Salomon, three other brands I have a number of products from. Not purchasing any more Mavic stuff is no great loss as they havenât made anything particularly impressive for a good number of years, but Salomon and Arcteryx are disappointing; luckily there are enough decent alternatives. Because this attitude clearly comes from above Suunto I will simply look at the list of companies owned by Amer and avoid them all in future.
I know that as a developer youâre simply delivering what the company decides is its priorities, and to be honest I think that is unfair on you that you end up dealing with the flak from Suuntoâs ridiculous decisions. Is the iOS app development really that far behind Android?
-
@Ennoch you own a Spartan if I understood correctly right ?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Yes, itâs a Spartan Ultra.
-
And if any
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos No, the interval workout feature. Itâs labelled âWorkoutâ in the watch menu and is one of my most used functions.
-
What are options for people like me not using phone with ios/android?

Have you decided what to do with your loyalty codes? Are you gonna buy Suunto watch right now to replace the old one or are you gonna wait until new products are released?
-
@dulko79
New Suunto 7 with 4100+ chip could be a winner for me. An improved battery is what could be crucial in my choice. According to what I read on the forum suunto 7 could suit my needs. But can we be sure that the new line will come out before the loyalty offer expires? I think I will wait a little longer and monitor the situation on the market. -
@DavorP I think loyalty codes are only for current products, not for the future ones. It is either buying current watches at good prices or investing more money in new hardware/software later.
-
@dulko79
Yes, you are right. I see now on Suunto page the models to which the offer relates are listed.
I think Iâll wait anyway⊠-

@dulko79 Loyalty, shmoyalty! Even with a 30% discount (or whatever the figure is, I forget) Iâm not giving Suunto any more money after they axed much of the functionality that drove my decision to buy my first Suunto watch. Which is also my last. As of almost two months ago Iâm a happy Coros Vertix user.

Since you are still here, I think all of us would be happy to know what is the experience of coros (Also app based) vs suunto. In a separate thread
Iâve seen some reviews and they seem interesting. On my side I am checking. S9B can be an option, but I will wait to see prices of other brands black friday.
Last year on Portugal we got Fenix 5 at 299eur (today 329eur), S9B with 30% is 350eur, coros in also between 300 and 500eurâŠ
Donât know. I think I will try the S9B after black friday and if I donât like I return it.
So far from the reviews nothing triggers me much attention as the ambit 2 did back in the day.edit: for those who are in the us and want to buy coros, here is a good hint
-
@RiphRaph S9 baro black at 350 ⏠or just over 400 ⏠for Titanium seems a good deal if you are satisfied with functions that come on board. I guess S9 is also not at the end of lifetime. If I am not wrong it was mentioned in another thread that watches will be supported till the hardware allows it. Any new Suunto watch that comes in the future will need some time for bugs to be fixed plus price tag will be much higher. Another option is to wait for Black Friday what competition will offer.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos do you have any information if there will be further announcements on this digital transition?
Right now we only have
âWe have decided, in order to ensure the best possible consumer experience for all our community, that we will postpone the planned changes to Movescount App, SuuntoLink, and Moveslink2 until 2021.âTill when?
What will be implemented and what wonât? (Right now we know, mostly for your comments (And thank you a lot!) that at least power on SA should be corrected)Thank you
-
@André-Faria iOS paring and sync issues, some notifications on android and of course power. That is what I personally know.
There should be another update in 2021
