Suunto app stops synchronize before its done

I have spent hours trying to get my watch, ambit 3 peak, to sync with the suunto app on iPhone 11. It starts sync and when it get to around 70% it stops. Tried manually for hours and eventually plugged the watch into pc. I did reinstall, repaired the watch etc. still no joy

do you have movescount still running in the background on the phone?
this is what can cause trouble in my experience. -

what about clearing cache etc? -

my wife sometimes had issues syncing to MC app wit a3r but was always solved after sync thru moveslink 2

I have completed the watch reboot and phone reboot and it finally worked! -
And then the very next day it stops working again
