May Transition Update

@TELE-HO
I must be drunk, but I am almost sure this survey was in MC app -
@Mff73
I looked in MC web and app, maybe it was a selective survey… OR it was for people that used it frequently in the past weeks and as I was on vacation and just enjoyed the waves and the beers, the possibility is that I was skipped -

Maybe is not a 100% safe link

I love how people here are clinging onto the hope of getting any clear and coherent information about Ambit1/2 and Movescount lifecycle.
I can smell a sinking ship from a mile away and sold my A2 S for the price of a quality 12-pack of IPA right after buying a Garmin Forerunner 245. I will be downloading all my MC activities this afternoon -before deleting my account.
Mentally, I’m now in a better place. I’ve also discouraged everyone who looks to me for tech advice against purchasing Suunto products specifically because of this hot mess - not to say dumpster fire.
As a silver lining, I can only hope business schools far and near will use this odyssey as a cautionary tale against making loyal customers feel like they purchased and use disposable goods and services.
I’m now going for a run. Afterwards, I’ll reflect upon how worry-free and seamless the Garmin ecosystem is. While drinking an ice cold IPA.

Received when using Movescount (web or app, i don’t remember), and launched at work, no alert.
But maybe. -
@almic
that’s not nice, you make me jealous about that IPA!you have some good points… but I still don’t give up… maybe it’s my mentality?!
I saw the Coros Vertix today… very nice!
But I guess I will enjoy my new A3P Sapphire for a while.
And if not… I can also go cycling and skitouring without any watch
…by the way… @Jouko-from-Suunto update message did not push me off my socks again, either… sorry to be honest… -

if there is any miracle, let the movescount become the web interface of SA, please

I feel this survey like that.
Fingers crossed. -
@Mff73
in the URL it seems like it was mainly meant for Spartan users… -
@TELE-HO
Or for 1974 born people
Looks like more a categorized released -
Nothing moved forward, beside other issues, Movescount does still not show “Progress an Metrics” from moves uploaded with my Ambit 2. Therefore, I phased out my 6 year old Ambit 2, and purchased a sport watch from an other manufacturer. To transfer all my Suunto moves to the software from my new smartwatch was easy, and I can see progress and metrics in apps and on a PC perfectly again. I’m very happy with my new sport watch, and wanted just to say good bye Suunto.
-
@SteiraMan Just out of curiosity: where did you move to?
-
@BernhardT I moved to Garmin, to a Fenix 5 Plus. Like it very much, data recorded at moves are similar to data from Suunto. I can still prepare routes on a PC, or on my smartphone. User interface on PC is great, and the Android App is great, both are more user friendly than Suuntos solutions.
I hope, quality of the Fenix 5+ and Garmins heart belt is the same than from my Ambit 2 and Suunto heart belt, because both work very well after 6 years in use… -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Does that imply that the desktop tools for using my Suunto Spartan Trainer Wrist HR vanish in a few months? Will the apps be useable by desktop? (By the way, I did not find a way to use movescount on a linux desktop) I am not interested in acquiring a smartphone …

@ThomasR unfortunately yes that is what the statement says however, please wait for the next one. There was tons of feedback about this here as you can see.
You will always receive and email about this subject as a Movescount user.
That said, I have run the app with VMware although I could not manage to get BT working.
