Important news concerning our digital services

@Shaun-Hubbard
You may try runalyze.com . It is a great free service which according to their roadmap will rely on Suunto’s open API and will gain connectivity during 2019 Q1. Currently you would have to manually upload your .fit files, which you can still get from movescount.Give it a try and let me know if you have any question.
-
@jsuarez runalyse is very good. Still, it does not display manual or interval laps which makes it less than ideal.
I am a user of theirs and login daily, but still it is an effort by just 2 guys.
You would expect a serious company to offer a myriad of tools and not close the one that works without any plans for replacement. -

@Tobias-F That is not true at all
-
Hi all I am sorry it took some to process all the feedback here.
I wanted to inform you that I have gathered all the points and sentiment here and transfered that already.
I would though like to clear something up:
We don’t deny or say no to A3 sport mode customization and route planning via the Suunto app (since some users asked it).
We are listening quite well and if you read the page correct we will follow up with updates and planning for all mentioned devices.
-
Is there already something you can tell about future support for older watches without bluetooth?
Suunto can do some damage control to announce that based on alle the feedback they have got they decided to maintain a website to make it possible to upload data and to change settings on the device. -
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Suunto didn’t mentioned anything for Ambit3/Traverse sports modes/routes/POI’s yesterday, they did not say they are working on it or it’s coming but cryptical talking about basic functionality only particular for these two devices so I doubt they will act in this direction…

Hey mate! You know I appreciate you (and your hard work in the forums) but you can’t be on both sides. Do you represent Suunto decisions? If no, just transfer their decisions (like on the press release from yesterday). If answer is yes, then don write “please, don’t shut the messenger” because then you’re not just a simply messenger.
The place to clear things from Suunto were the press release. Stop. Even over your own (and for sure, sincere) words. We don’t deny or say no to A3 sport mode customization and route planning via the Suunto app (since some users asked it).
The fact is that to don’t say or deny something, doesn’t mean anything at the end. As I said: if Suunto have some kind of plans for A3 sport customization and route planning via the Suunto App… I’m pretty sure (with just no doubts), that it would be included in the press release text to keep calm on A3 users. FOR SURE!!!
Big companies doesn’t play with clients or users, and that kind of press releases revealing big changes are hardly revised and checked by managers. We are listening quite well and if you read the page correct we will follow up with updates and planning for all mentioned devices.
But, man… at this moment, users just could believe in plans we could READ: so please, don’t talk about “maybe”, “perhaps”, “probably” or “as it’s not specified, it would be added”. That is not the way to express a big change company plan to their clients.

@Tobias-F @ColdBeer
Let me state this one more time as I kinda think its not so clear to you.
This thread is the first announcement that Suunto does and will follow up with further details depending on what Users ask/want and address those demands/ issues.
It’s (ill say this again) a >1.5y time to do what is needed.
As it’s not good to speculate on a feature coming to the Suunto app at this moment, it’s also not good to speculate that it’s not coming as well.
I will personally will be updating people here on the next plans / features.
However at this very moment, @Tobias-F and @ColdBeer you are users with Spartans I suppose, you are not affected by the above, and going on claiming that these features won’t come, does not help me or other people here, but rather you are making this harder.
Please lets us come to these issues in time. It’s not been 24 h since the first announcement.

“you are users with Spartans I suppose, you are not affected by the above” how did you get that reading?
multiple Suunto devices Spartan trainer is one of them, beside AMbit2/3/Vertical/Traverse and others …
and yes I’m effectedI read Suunto’s announcement yesterday and make my conclusion from what they said and what they did not say, if you have facts and can contribute to it I would be more as happy to hear, what I will not do is sit wait and listen to "if’ “maybe” “let’s see” “might be” this is all vaporware rather then facts
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos Hahaha!!! If it’s a bit harder because of me, it’s an honor at the end jejeje!!!
BTW. People, users, clients, investors and market doesn’t walk at the rhythm a company wants. They -we- have our own rhythm and our own direction which could be coincident -or not- with the company interests. In other words: Suunto have a lot of others ways to know what users ask/want . Suunto doesn’t need to launch a press release with “big holes” which is similar to launch a fishing rod with no bait and wait to see what happens…
ATM, users and others just need to believe in OFICIAL information which is what were presented yesterday. It’s just what I think. In the other side, I don’t need to defend A2 users (they’ve got strong enough probably), but I could criticize Suunto because I’m a long term viewer and critic because I see the color the things are taken, and every prediction is here. As you know, I’m not critic specifically with SA, but I really believe it’s not the kind of solution that Suunto must give to their users.
And no, I don’t want that you, personally, “will be updating people here on the next plans / features”. Seriously? Not, this is information must be shared directly from Suunto, official information. You could be just a messenger or you could talk like knowing the intentions of Suunto, but you must choose.

This will be more clear with time but not in 24h friend

This information will be shared directly to all languages on Suunto.com
I am an official comms representative for Suunto here at this moment and my only intention of saying:
I will personally will be updating people here on the next plans / features.
is to speed up the communication before it needs to be translated to all languages, go to official channels and emails.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I can not agree mate. SA is only valid for the creation of quite basic routes. For the complicated I’ve been looking for good software to edit, split, merge routes. I recently used ADZE. To make it easier, the MC route creator is very good for me and gives me options to modify the route to create new variants in my routes, and is comfortable in web environment with a screen of at least 13 'In SA the only useful feature is the novelty of the GPX import. In SA you can not edit tracks, you can not create free-mode routes with altitude graph. Which only fulfills a small part of my expectations. I suppose there will be many improvements until 2020, but at the moment it is impossible to replace the MC by SA completely.

So, that’s what we’re talking about, just that. Because there is no more official information ATM. We can’t talk about what is not saying or supposes doesn’t assured. MC will be closed on 2020. SA is a good enough beta app (but it’s still far to be good to manage our watches: intervals, planning, calendar…) and it’s just an app, not comparable to a great web platform that you could work in a powerful computer with a big screen and a detailed mouse. (Please, correct me if I’m wrong).
I am an official comms representative for Suunto here at this moment and my only intention of saying:
And, as I know, you transfer our opinions and ideas to Suunto to let them have opinions enough to take their own decisions. Correct. But then, please, don’t try to silence us.
If there is encourage in the Suunto clients, Suunto must see it in positive and take some points as:
- Suunto users does really love and defend the brand and services.
- There were lot of users -that probably didn’t fill inquiries before, that are pretty happy with MC platform.
- Maybe Suunto created the encourage wave, maybe because their communications are not clear enough or their decisions were not really user-based, maybe they couldn’t measure the effects.
In a positive way, but they must take their conclusions.

omisation in SA for Ambits
Look if you really want to be angry because of something that MIGHT happen in 1.5 - 2 years (and shouldn’t have any real impact on your life) is really up to you. I don’t have any right to question your decisions and I am sorry if I offended you somehow.
But in my opinion this forum is mainly about SA and also about watch firmware a little bit as some issues are of course interconnected. And the app is still evolving - much slower than we would like that’s true but it is going in the right direction in my opinion. But you still don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.
At the moment Movescount works and you can connect Ambit1/2/t3/t4/t6 as you wish. What happens in 2 years? I really don’t know. Maybe even some owners of those older models of watches won’t use the same model in two years from now. Who knows? Maybe there will be some official Suunto solution how to connect those watches once the Movescount will be decommissioned. There is still time for that. For me it’s better to enjoy Today than worry about where will my workouts upload two years from now. -
@ColdBeer I am not trying to silence anyone here. I am trying to avoid things like:
This feature wont come because it’s not announced in 24h since the first announcement.
Makes sense?
-
@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos I must make another lesson Suunto must give some importance:
- Giving full compatibility & sync between SA & MC is a must to let people habituate to the new platform with no fear.

Wow
- Giving full compatibility & sync between SA & MC is a must to let people habituate to the new platform with no fear.
As you know there is also an API service to sync MC -> SA ready to go
