As already noticed by some people upcoming mobile app update will contain two new maps:

      • Terrain
      • City

Both style are focused on using in 3D mode.
Terrain is for exploring mountainous areas, should give the best perspective on the elevation.
City is for using in urban areas, especially popular ones, with nice renderings of landmark buildings.

      Known issues & what’s next:

      • City style will also have dark version in the future
      • City style surface is distorted by elevation, it will be fixed with updates

@Stavrogin both platforms should receive it with this month release. Android beta-testers already received it, iOS will get it with the next update. But that’s my understanding, I can be wrong.
