Constantin: monitor effort drift against your session average
-
Sounds like a great app - unfortunately I don’t have a lot of flat tracks available… is live NGP also possible for the Pace value?
-
@VoiGAS I’m investigating it. Also speed for biking instead of pace. I mean - it’s possible, why not. The issue is if the platform will handle it all.
-
@althaea35 thanks, I made it to help me avoid pushing too hard on my runs. My migraine doesn’t like too high effort and hr. Glad to see it’s useful for others!
-
Welp. Here we go again. I’m investigating zapps being unloaded when Constantin 2.0+ is being used with ZoneSense. It seems that the S+ app can be either custom designed or have custom features but not both

-
It’s quite likely that 2.05 will finally be stable when running along ZS and navigation. I’ve uploaded it to Suunto platform but the file hasn’t been updated yet.
If you’re seeing a big, white dot on the screen instead of two-color arch - it’s 2.05 or newer.

How To Use
Start your workoutHello
i have a route I do my Trailrunning,
i think it would better fit then the ghost runner.
but, have it installed but can’t find in my watch.have a nice day
vinc -
New version is in.
The good:
There’s speed as default, pace for running and ngp for trail running. The bad:
Used along zonesense and navigation crashes the app (the watch unloads Constantin to free UI memory). So… Let’s see how far I can optimise it. I suspect I’ll have to remove the HR arch and the white center point as a minimum to make it stable.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel Just wanted to test it this morning.
I use Runna for training plan generation and started a workout + Constantin which ended in a crash and reboot.
I just started the activity and wanted to toggle to Constantin.
1st page, standard overview (pace, distance, etc.), 2nd page map, 3rd page would have been either Constantin or the workout/ interval view. Not sure since the watch stalled and then rebooted. -
@lessthanmore yeah I know. Check if you have today’s version on your device. It should be 21.06 and 2.08. It should be fixed.

Hi everyone,
I’ve uploaded a new Constantin version: 2.08.
This update is mainly about stability. Some users, especially on newer watches when using route navigation and other SuuntoPlus apps like ZoneSense at the same time, could see Constantin or another SuuntoPlus app get unloaded during an activity. The watch logs pointed to the screen/UI side being overloaded, not to the sport calculations themselves.
So this version makes the workout screen much lighter.
What changed
- The app now uses fewer internal data channels between the app logic and the watch screen.
- The old separate chart-history outputs were removed.
- The chart drawing was simplified.
- The heart-rate zone arc was replaced with a simple colored vertical bar on the right edge of the chart.
- The “now” dot was removed.
- The trend chart now builds toward a broader view of effort over roughly the last 10 minutes. Early in the workout, or shortly after opening the Constantin screen, the chart may show a shorter trend until enough data has been collected.
- The app keeps one focused screen with movement speed, heart rate, trend, and HR zone context.
This should reduce the UI memory/load pressure that was causing crashes or SuuntoPlus apps being unloaded, especially when Constantin is used together with navigation or ZoneSense. I tested this version yesterday on a watch and it worked as expected.
Sport-specific display
The main workout value now adapts to the sport:
- Road, track, treadmill, and track-and-field running show pace.
- Trail, vertical, orienteering, obstacle, and adventure running show NGP.
- Other sports show speed.
So the screen should now better match the type of activity, while staying simpler and lighter for the watch.
What’s next
I’m planning more UI work in future versions, but the focus will stay on readability, stability, and simplicity rather than adding new features or more metrics.
Feedback is very welcome, especially reports about crashes or SuuntoPlus apps being unloaded. If you see a problem, please share the watch model, activity type, other SuuntoPlus apps used, and whether route navigation was active.
