HRM 2?
-
@snow I’m expecting a delivery from the local store tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to it and I’m curious

-
@snow
Please share your impressions once you have tried it out.
Personally I have the Polar H10, so I am most interested in how well running dynamics work.
I checked my local dealer “Löplabbet” but they did not have SHRM2 listed and no information about when it could be available. Did note that they had Run 2 listed but only the 4GB model. Is it only me or does this feel a bit disorganised?

@snow can I ask about the smell of the band? : ) The “old” ones used to smell quite plasticky, which polluted all my clothing.

Does anyone have screenshots or examples showing how the running dynamics data from the Suunto Smart Heart Rate Belt 2 are presented in the Suunto app on iPhone?
I am specifically interested in the metrics derived from the six-axis motion sensor: cadence, ground contact time, vertical oscillation, flight time, and left/right ground contact balance. Are these shown as summary values only, or are they also available as graphs/time-series data during the activity analysis?
Also, does anyone know exactly which Suunto watch models support the Smart Heart Rate Belt 2, including access to these additional running dynamics metrics?
-
Sorry if it was answered, but is the running dynamics the only significant thing that is better compared to HRM 1? In that case, I can just keep using the first generation without worrying to much.

@aiv4r I do not care at all about the running dynamics, but the new sensor has 3 BLE connections. I have a Polar H10 that I do not plan to replace, but if something happens to it, the HRM 2 could be my next HR sensor.

@aiv4r
There were some statements that the design of the belt should lead to better contact and what I interpret as higher sampling frequency and better dynamics of the HR sensor. Primarily to improve Zone Sense I think (more accurate R-R detection). -
I am using the Polar H10 as well. But as you sometimes have more insights:
- Does the HRM2 have some technical advantages versus the H10? Like shorter HR and RR Intervalls or faster, better and more reliable data transfer?
I do not have any issues with the Polar, but would love to have a full Suunto Setup again. But if there is no technical difference at all, I would not replace the Polar immediately.

@Stoke80 I did not test the HRM 2, so have no data on the accuracy.
-
@Stoke80 you look the video of the test from thequantifiedscientist,
It could answer some of your questions. -
My very first run during my lunch break at work with the HRM2 (sorry, I haven’t enabled Running Dynamic so can’t say anything). Setup went smoothly with SA, except for one small hiccup with the watch (Race S), which is why I’m asking: do I need to enable an open connection to let the sensor pair with the watch? Until I held down (long press) the button (i.e., until I enabled an open connection), it wouldn’t pair at all

@OutdoorMan afaic there’s no bad smell
