Suunto Software update Q1 (2.53.42)

@Elipsus Not to mention, his phone and watch are both sitting on a laptop in the photo, which is guaranteed to throw off the magnetometers. Should I lodge a complaint too?

@inkognito

it helps if you were present in the physics class at school⊠-
@Elipsus
Iâm using Google Translate.
From Turkish to English. Not Chinese.
I just pasted the wrong part and didnât realize it afterwards.
I apologize for that.
Yes, it was tested with a real compass.
Calibration was done.
Please remember that Iâve been using Suunto for 15 years when making suggestions and recommendations. I wouldnât write here without doing simple checks and tests. -
@inkognito These tests were conducted in an open area. I only put the camera on the computer screen when I took the photo. Iâll send videos of the tests done in the steep forest.:)

@safari Sorry for the silly jokes, mate, I was in a bit of a cheeky mood during my coffee break. Anyway, both my Vertical and my girlfriendâs Race S show the true value within 1-2° precision when compared to a real compass. There might actually be something wrong with your watch if it shows different valuesâŠ

@inkognito
No problem, these things happen in life.
I mainly do comparisons with an analog compass (Suunto MCA).
It might give different values ââtoo.
My mistake was sharing a different image than the one from my test. -
@safari I added the chinese part because that how it felt to me when I read your post lol.
No worries, you can edit your post to put the english version instead, so future reader wonât have troubles.
Think of the declination as a simple offset between the âtrue northâ and âmagnetic northâ, so a 1° error in decliation will result in a 1° difference between the true north and magnetic north, so, what you are showing is not an issue with the declination.
Analog compass will only show you the Magnetic north, if you set the Declination offset to 0 on your watch, you should have the same value.
As other mentioned, the compass integrated in watches is pretty sensitive to even simple metal stuff (the spoon in the example is "redirecting " the magnetic field along the spoon axis, thus changing the direction of the field near the watch), so its only really usable in the âwildâ and far from other metallic stuff -
@tuxbuster Scusa ma nin volevo fare il divertente. Ho tralasciato il fatto di aver resettato lâorologio, e tutto Ăš tornato normale. Scusami se ti ho dato un idea sbagliata. Grazie

I recently did a settings reset on my watch because I was getting crashes on longer runs, where the watch would stop the run, and the watch face would display. This seemed to be occuring when I had the navigation display up.
However, since doing the reset, I no longer have the option to change any of the metrics displayed in the tooth on the navigation display. Those settings are now missing. I do however have pulse rate displayed, but I cannot change it, even by enabling touch on the map and tapping it.
So it would seem that âreset settingsâ is not working as desired with the new navigation settings functionality.
-
@DrSilverthorn Have you selected other data fields for the âtoothâ? Once activity is started > Map screen > Options (down button) > Data fields.

@EzioAuditore ha. Well I couldâve sworn it wasnât there earlier. But now it is. I mustâve been mistaken. Thank you.
