VSCode Extension (Simulator) broken in latest version of VSCode on MacOS

After updating my VSCode installation the Simulator does not start anymore. All I am seeing in the debug console is

Create Appor only with the one you’re working on? Our team member with an M2 Macbook reported not being able to reproduce this error.
