Charging issue
-
I have a V2 I bought last month.
I’m having issues charging, it takes forever to charge, like 5% per hour as if it’s constantly trickle charging. It was stuck on 22% and I turned it off and on again and it jumped to 36%. It’s getting to the point that I charge it for a few hours every week to keep it going. There is no damage to the contacts, cable it charger and the watch is clean from grime.
Any ideas what this can be?

@JoeBloggs2791 Maybe do a soft reset first and try again? You can also try and leave it to fully drain the battery and start from 0. Finally, hard reset and if persists contact service.

Are you sure the adapter is fine?
-
@Horizontal_2 I agree - would check cable/charging set up. What are you plugging into?

Cleaning the charging contacts

@Horizontal_2 it’s 4 weeks old with no visible damage…?
-
@larrybbaker I’ve tried an Apple and Anker plug and a battery pack
-
@JoeBloggs2791 I mean: is the out put strong enough? Sometimes there are weak adapters like 5W. I use a 15W adapter to charge my SV2
-
@Horizontal_2 is the output high enough on an apple USB-C plug?!
-
@JoeBloggs2791 I use the Apple 25W adapter with USB C… its working fine

To continue the saga of my Vertical 2 slow charging, I’ve contacted Suunto and they are ‘reviewing’ my case with a 5-7 day timeframe.
I can’t even hard reset the watch as it hasn’t reached 40% battery. It was charging from 1900 to 0530 and went from 7% to 26%. Its now been stuck at 30% for an hour or so.
I read about Suunto’s poor customer service but I’m beginning to regret leaving Garmin.
It is either a defective cable, or the watch. Unless you can do some self tests with multi meter, I’d recommend to send the watch AND the cable to service designated for your location. Unless they have the watch with the cable in for testing, any remote “reviewing the case” is nonsense and won’t solve anything.
Have you tried powering the watch down and then putting on the charger?
