I can only confirm (Vertical 1) that some watch faces are more “batter-usage” than others.

        Therefore I avoid watch-faces with animations like moon-phases, earth-animations, north-arrow, classic seconds-arrow etc.

I don’t think that battery, as it is after last update, is acceptable,

A few days ago I run a ~3h trail with maps always on and battery barely drops 12%. For sure issue depends on the config/features used, but in my use cases, everything is working fine now after last update.

@snow that means that the watch is valid for a 100k run without charging it. Not bad.
I’m thinking in pushing an order.
It has a very good price now, but I’m afraid Suunto is replacing this watch for the Race 2 S very soon.

It seems we all have the same problem.
One night sleep with sleep monitoring uses ove 10% battery.

I’ve disabled sleep monitoring. It’s neither accurate nor useful. You’re better off asking yourself in the morning if you feel refreshed or still sleepy. A much better indicator how you slept.
If you disable sleep tracking you also disable hrv. But from properly tests (not some youtube gadget influencer) hrv measuring on garmin watches isn’t that accurate and I have no reason to believe others brands are better. And, again, the useful of hrv is questionable.

But some people love collecting data, so I understand disabling data collection isn’t an option for everyone.

@sky-runner, same issues: my watch uses 7-10% battery even in power-save mode overnight.

Hopefully they’re able to fix it soon. It feels like with every update they just introduce more problems. Currently still experiencing the auto-update bug (can’t disable it essentially), and now the battery bug has gotten even worse.

I largely agree with you. The point is that we pay for those functions, so Ikd expect them to work in an acceptable manner

The second: they don’t know how to fix it. Finns too busy to bother Russia and enjoy NATO membership 😉

I would rather not pay for functions that perhaps may sound useful but in real life aren’t (either because they don’t work very well, or aren’t how things work or are just marketing bs).

But I realize it’s easier to make a watch for people who just want to collect as much data as they can or have fomo, in stead of a watch that is 100% tailored to 1 individual.

As long as I can turn things off, I’m make. Manufacturers make the most stupid choices for this. On my previous garmin I could turn off morning report, on my Suunto I cannot. But if I disable sleep tracking, morning report is also disabled. (End result is great, the way to do is is stupid).
Garmin added voices alerts to tbt alerts, which couldn’t be turned off. It drove me (and quite a few others on the garmin forum) nuts. Sold my garmin and bought a Suunto. (And my wife noticed I complain less about my watch)
