Vertical 2 External HRM Pairing Issues

For the life of me I cannot get an external HRM to pair after more than one activity.
I will pair the HRM, workout no problem. Next session, the HRM cannot be found unless I delete and repair the sensor.
I have tried:

Watch soft reset

Polar H9 and Suunto HRM (both with current and fresh batteries)
I have no hair, but I’m pulling my hair out because this is driving me nuts. I run relying heavily on ZoneSense but I’m not going to spend five minutes before each run trying to troubleshoot my sensors.

@stromdiddily I had to go to the “sensors” menu in the activity start screen and tell it to use the HRM I wanted to use, the second time I went for a run. After that, it automatically recognized it.
The issue seemed to have come about because/when I paired two different HRMs and the watch didn’t know which one to use, so to say. (So maybe also try just pairing one of them…) -
@zhangschmidt after the last update the Bluetooth heart rate belt connectivity crashes while Trailrunning. Again and again and again. Please solve this issue!!! Have to stop and restart the workout.

I went full nuclear option and bought a new Suunto HRM (admittedly, mine was about 10 years old). So far have not had any of the previous issues with the new belt.

@stromdiddily My belts are short-lived 6 mo to 1 yr but the sensors seem good for a long, long time. Many years in my experience, so far a decade old and still ok.

@GiPFELKiND how does the external HR crash? Lately I have started noticing that after a few auto-pauses my Vertical 2 stops showing (and recording) HR. It seems the belt (Suunto HRM belt) remains connected as the watch does not default back to inbuilt OHR. After stopping the activity the watch displays syncing HR but the data doesn’t show - neither in the watch nor later in the app. If I start a new activity immediately afte (no repositioning, touching or otherwise manipulating the belt) - the HR belt connects normally and the watch shows the HR values.

@Freezer for me, the Suunto HR belt doesn’t work for about three month… it started with SV1 and the straps, and the problem continues with my SV2… the belt is connected, you start the training, and the belt looses the connection and after a while it reconnects… I can hear the beep wich signals the connection…. this happens several times… after finishing the training, the watch says syncing data… but there is no syncing of hr data between belt and watch as I see phases of constant hr (like a plateau) in the graph for the time when the connection is lost… I have two belts… the same behavior for both belts… both belts work without problems when I connect them to the iPad during a workout with my waterrower…
And as far as I know, the watch takes the hr information from the belt if you start an activity while the belt is connected… there is no backup function in case of a problem with the belt… but I think hr should sync between belt and watch after the training… they say the belt has a memory and you can use the belt for swimming and it will sync after training even if the BT connection is broken due to the water? -
