Hello friends, I’m interested in getting Vertical 2 or even V1 for my winter bike rides because my Garmin 7s watch stops working around 2 hours in sub-zero temperatures.
What is your experience with Vertical 1 or 2? with this specific setup?
I know that putting it on wrist can warm the watch, but I want to use it on handlebars for navigation.
Thanks in advance for any experience!

@Jan-Krejčí it should not be a problem. I use Race 2 on the outside of my jacket when biking and XC skiing. I guess biking is not cold enough (around O C), but I XC skied in -20 C without any problems. Previously, I used S9B and skied at close to -30 C on a few occasions with no issues.

I think the specs talk about -20 C or even -25 C. When it is colder we should stay at home 😁.

          Specs for the Verticals are -20 C to +55 C, the Fenix 7 specs are -20 C to +45 C - so interesting to compare…

I don’t know about the temperature, but for cycling the v1 is in my opinion the better watch. I have the V2 now but previously the V1.

For everyday use and most sports I prefer the V2 screen, it is sharper and clearer and I can read it better without glasses on!

But the v1 screen is easier to follow a track on the bike.

I have the V2 but you need to take into account that if you mount an AMOLED watch on a handlebar the display won’t stay on (at least not in full brightness). If you put it on your arm it will light up when you raise your arm.
For that reason, I think you could be better off with the V1 which has an always on MIP display (and you may also benefit from the solar charging).
