Lately my watch has started to randomly soft reset.
Havet noticed a pattern so far.

On the latest version (as of 16 dec 2025).

It also sometimes freezes so I have to manually soft reset to unfreeze the watch…

I’ve had the watch for about 10 days now, but I’ve already experienced a few issues. It has restarted itself several times, and on a few occasions it completely froze, requiring a soft reset.

It seems to happen most often when I’m viewing the morning report.

Do you think this is something that justifies a warranty claim, or is it more likely a software issue that could be fixed with an update?

@runyx17 Definitely the watch should not restart itself randomly. Try soft then hard reset and if no help contact support telling them that you already proceeded with soft and then hard reset. Do note: hard reset you’ll lose downloaded maps, custom sports, etc.

@Josef-Nilsson i have similar issue with my Race 2, it randomly restarts sometimes, so far noticed once a week. But it is usually in the evening and not on activity mode, also hard to notice, just feel slight vibration and check to see Suunto logo and it continues again. Commenting here to be able to follow conversation here 🙂

My Vertical (1st gen) has recently started soft resetting at around 4:45 a.m. ever since I went abroad. I suspected it might be down to the morning weather data syncing over Wi-Fi. Once I disabled the Wi-Fi in the watch settings, the resets stopped completely. It might be worth giving that a go to see if it sorts it out for you.

              SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!
