After the 2.48.16 FW update, the ‘K14 marine compass’ watchface seems laggy during the transition from inactive to active state on my Vertical (1st gen). It was fine and smooth before the update.

You can see the issue in this video:
      suunto_k14_button_press_to_wake_up.mp4
There is now an approximately 200 ms-long black screen between the inactive and active state which is quite annoying. The transition doesn’t feel smooth at all…

For comparison, the ‘Classic analogue’ doesn’t have this issue:

Interestingly, the ‘Concentric’ analogue face does seem to have the same problem.

Could someone please look into this?

      SV: fingers crossed :D
S9 (non-baro): died after 2 months, replaced, holding strong since 03/20
Spartan Trainer: casing broke after 23 months, repaired, lost watertightness 5 months later, died
Despite some pretty bad luck, I still love Suunto!

Not on my Vertical. If I rise the wrist it’s okay, if I press a button the backlight starts immediately without any lag or black screen, but I always get a button action which follows without a lag.

On my 9PP no problem too.

@pilleus That’s interesting, thank you for testing.
Could I just ask you to confirm that you were definitely using the K14 Marine Compass watchface? The reason I ask is that the majority of watchfaces work fine for me, too. This problem only seems to affect a few specific ones.

I’ve already tried a few things to fix it, like removing and re-installing the watchface, removing all complications from it, and performing a soft reset. Unfortunately, I still have that annoying lag.

Now i can reproduce it. I have to wait until the hand for the seconds disappears (after a minute) and then the black screen appears for a moment. No difference if rise to wake jumped in or not.

                @pilleus Yes, exactly!

                Excellent! Well… relatively 😅
Thank you very much for testing and confirming the issue!

@inkognito I have the same issue with the Summit Seeker watch face.
Idle watchface → press any button → short full-black → target screen
I have tried reinstalling the watch face, but it made no difference.

This is happening in general, when I press any button to wake up the watch (Race 2).

Same lag and black screen with Vertical Week watchface, going from AOD to full watchface by pressing a button.
However, when I just use gesture, turning the wrist it behaves as it should…
