Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release)
-
@SergioB possibly the song as the main bugfix is the battery (d)rain?
-
@Stefan-Kersting I guess you’ve already tried a factory reset?
I know that it’s painful as you cannot store the watch configuration… -
@gone-troppo to confirm that you must wait at least few days. It is hard to say from just few hours.
-
@Mads-Hintz-Madsen did you try a factory reset? I have the same trouble but before doing a factory reset and loose all my setting I want to ensure that it works and the the factory reset isn t wastet.
-
@gone-troppo I think you have to wait several days to get a reliable answer from the forum users…
-
@SuperFlo75 obviously I am not the only one with these problems and @gone-troppo had issues too. A hard reset did not work either.

I am getting more and more annoyed just seeing my watch that doesn t work
-
@Stefan-Kersting I understand what you mean, and I know about the issues that you and other guys postet… I would get really angry, oh yeah, really angry

-
@SuperFlo75 @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos @pavel.samokha and I am getting more annoyed when reading the answer of the Suunto service:
I totally understand your concern and I’m really sorry for the trouble. have you sent the product for service before?
-
@Stefan-Kersting The ghost BT connections are a problem. I would perform a hard reset. I am having no issues with the new firmware.
-
@Brad_Olwin have contact with the support now and they say I can do a rollback. What do you think of that solution?

-
On reddit there was a change log including also “flashlight setting reminder in activity” (vertical 2). Any idea what this is?

-
@Stefan-Kersting depends on which firmware, the prior one had issues with battery drain. Not sure that will rid you of the ghost connections but it won’t delete all of the sport modes, etc. Similar to an update, then you could update.
-
@Brad_Olwin when I am reading this post I am not sure if a factory reset will solve the problem…?
-
@Stefan-Kersting You’re asking if a factory reset works to remove ghost BT connections? I did it with the previous update because I didn’t want to wait for another update and, yes, for me ghost BT connections disappeared. Unfortunately, as you know, you have to reconfigure everything afterward.
Before performing a factory reset, I tried reverting to the previous firmware version. Surprisingly, the connections that were previously known also became ghost BT connections. -
@fondueaufromage all right then it looks like that the factory reset is the way to go. Just wondering if - when not doing the factory reset - the ghost BT connections are responsible for the battery drain
-
@Stefan-Kersting 2.44.46 (August 25) was the version which I used in summer… battery drain was ok, but installing this firmware crashed my individual sport modes like a hard reset… 2.44.52 (September 25) had a little bit more battery drain… and the ghosts in your case? Before, we had 2.43.12 (June 25) I think it was good, but no map download without charger? The choice is not easy I think

-
@SuperFlo75 I have just the two pkg you see on the foto. 2.44.52 doesn t work because of both battery drain and the ghost BT. And thers no chance to go back to 2.44.46 when this pkg is not on my watch any more
-
@Stefan-Kersting In my case, I can’t say whether battery consumption is worse after a factory reset or if it was due to ghots BT connections. But I don’t want to generalize; this is just what I’ve observed with my SV. Perhaps others will have different opinions.
Before performing a factory reset, you can start by reverting to the previous version and see what happens to the ghost BT connections. My idea was to revert to the old version, delete the known BT devices, and install the new one, but that didn’t work. That’s why I ended up doing a factory reset, and I’m referring to the previous update 2.44.52 (2025 Q3 - HOTFIX). Now, with this new update, everything went well.
-
@Stefan-Kersting I‘m not sure if this is helpful?

The firmware versions for SV are really old… and I never did a downgrade…
I think that 2.43.12 would be useful for you, but I didn’t find a link there. -
@Stefan-Kersting I have done factory reset on my vertical twice including when it was sent back to suunto repair shop in Australia and it did not solve my battery drain issue. To the others saying it will take a few days to see if the battery drain is fixed would not apply to me. Mine often drains at 1% per hour on a bad day and about 1% per 2 hours on a good day. I will know within a few hours whether the battery drain is fixed once this update is available to those of us in Australia
