Where is the option to turn touch off?
-
If I use default settings with full display activation, taking a shower with the watch almost always results in the watch doing a lot of unintended things on its own, like setting an alarm, starting an activity, turning on “Do not disturb” mode, and a lot of other things. That is super annoying!
On the other hand, if I change display “Raise to wake” option to “Display Only”, touch is not automatically activated and it is ok in the shower, but then I no longer get a normal colorful watchface. It works as if the watch was in AOD mode - the watchface remains very minimal and more difficult to read. That also means that if I want to see any information at all except the time, I have to press a button.
I don’t really use touch except in rare case when I want to pan the map. What I would really prefer to keep the full activation on “Raise to wake” but disable touch. Why there isn’t a separate option for touch?
Alternatively, if the watch was smart enough to understand that the display is wet and temporarily disable touch, that would be good too.

@sky-runner a good suggestion. I would love to have an option to turn off touchscreen or only have it for activities. A had “a shower problem” with Vertical, with race s barely have it, since do not use always on display, but such an option would be nice.

I don’t use always on display either. The display activates when I turn my wrist, and then water hitting the screen start doing things.

@sky-runner yea sorry I ment, I use “display only” mode so touch is as you say is disabled for that one.

@sky-runner I agree this would be very helpful. I was looking for a way to do this with my Race 2, and ended up just setting my bottom shortcut to lock the watch. This takes care of it, but it would be nice to have that shortcut freed up for something else.
Even Apple watches don’t do this, and you have to swipe down from the top and turn on water mode or something like that.
