Downgrade FW
-
@Martin-Vrska you open the url of the linked post on your phone, it will download the fw on the phone
Then you share the fw file to the suunto app and the app will push the fw to the watch
Not sure how it can be done on android but on iOS it works like this
If you manage to found the full name of the fw (from someone that have it on the watch) we could try to download it the url is using the name of the fw -
@JosaipluI I don’t know where to look for the FW
. -
@Tami999 by any chance did you have the needed firmware on your watch ? Or anyone else in order to try pushing it on the device of @Martin-Vrska before he try to send it to service ?
I’m not sure it’s a good idea @ChrisA recommend to not go to this menu, I use it to downgrade but I don’t want to brick your device
-
@Josaiplu I understand. I’ll talk to the service department tomorrow and see what they can advise me. I even think that a file with the current FW version, i.e. 2.46.12, would be enough for me to be able to load it. It probably won’t be possible without the service department’s intervention. There’s a price to pay for an unreasonable step

-
@Josaiplu If someone has a working link for downloading the correct file it should work, without touching the dangerous’ debug menu again

@Josaiplu said in Downgrade FW:
@Squirrel I try to download the one that my race 2 came with :
https://firmware.geo.movescount.com/production/Wismar-fw_2.41.48.25165-U-bd1f3282.sofbut I got access denied

I see, cannot be downloaded directly through browser.
How about this URL on the phone:
com.sports-tracker.suunto://ota/ota-fw/xxxxxx-fw_2.xx.xx.xxxxx-x-xxxxxxxx.sofYou just need the correct file name and file to exist on the server.
So in your case (Race 2):
com.sports-tracker.suunto://ota/ota-fw/Wismar-fw_2.41.48.25165-U-bd1f3282.sof -
@Squirrel said in Downgrade FW:
com.sports-tracker.suunto://ota/ota-fw/Sapporo-fw_2.xx.xx.xxxxx-x-xxxxxxxx.sof
Thanks, good idea. But I don’t know the exact FW number…
-
@Squirrel other fw can be downloaded from a browser not this one I don’t know why
@Martin-Vrska yes we need a screenshot of a sv2 firmware names to see which one we can download
Maybe someone will post a screenshot and we could retry
-
@Martin-Vrska Suunto support cannot send FW, the watch recommends sending it to service.
-
@Martin-Vrska couls you try to download this one : https://firmware.geo.movescount.com/production/Wismar-fw_2.46.4.25276-U-6542ddd7.sof
and see if it helps once staged on the watch ? you currently have the 2.46.14 right ?
-
@Josaiplu Thank you. Now I have 2.46.12, but I think the watch came out with 2.44.42 and there was no other FW.
-
@Martin-Vrska I receive my Race 2 with 2.41.48 but yes can’t download it, seems that these FW are not published on movescount.
Now that you have 2 FW are you able to pair your watch with new device ? or solve your original issue ?
Please note that accoding to other thread a corrective FW is supposed to be released this week (keep fingers crossed) so maybe it will help and avoid you send the watch to service -
@Josaiplu I haven’t been able to download it yet, I’ll do it this afternoon. I also hope that a possible FW fix should help and I would avoid service or FW installation.
EDIT: I tried to download the FW using my phone (Android) and the Suunto app cannot load the file. -
@Martin-Vrska maybe with this URL :
com.sports-tracker.suunto://ota/ota-fw/Wismar-fw_2.46.4.25276-U-6542ddd7.sof
as suggested by @Squirrel Sorry i m on IOS can’t help on Android

-
@Josaiplu From my research, it seems that Android can’t do this. So I’ll either send it to a service center or wait for the new announced FW, which should hopefully help.

@Martin-Vrska Today’s release of the new FW solved my problem. Thank you all for your efforts to help. You are great!
-
@Martin-Vrska glad to read this ! enjoy your watch

-
