Inconsistant firmware update management and preference backup

Hi,
1/ around 2 am the day I should start the GRP 160 at 5 am, my race illuminated me and woke me up to notify new update availibility, that was not cool at all
Why does a firmware upgrade proposal still illuminated the watch in the middle of the night ? Question has already been asked here.
2/ My fault but since the precedent firmware update kept my settings I accepted… I should have not, 3h before the race this update reset my watch ! like a brand new watch I had to set profile and my data screen preferences for my incoming race activity, at 2 am while I should have still sleeping, imagine the stress.
Some firmware upgrades keep prefrences while some others reset the watch
No angry, but I wish:
1/ stop this night illumation each time a firmware is available
2/ At least give the information that a reset will happen, so we could avoir a bad moment
3/ I wish settings and activities preferences might be back up on server like Garmin, wich will facilitate the move from one suunto to a new one ( my case RAce -> Race 2 ) and apply back if a reset is needed.
