Software Update 2.40.38 (2025 Q1)

Did “Chores” today just for fun and giggles and I must say, I’m impressed. I fully expected to have just a dummy activity with that name, but Suunto has actually put some thoughts into this. First you have to make the decision inside / outside - I guess that is a GPS no or yes - and then you even get laps and calories burned. And in the Suunto app you get a “flexibility” label. Well done…

Funny thing is You dont mention UI speedup, its biggest one and I got Vertical almost since release.

@2b2bff came in handy for a paintjob I had to do. As you said it’s completely configurable for indoor and outdoor use. I turned of GPS for that job, but steps and distance still got tracked

I was out for an unplanned walk and had a very low battery.
When 2% of the battery was left, a message appeared saying that power saving mode had been activated. But there was no getting rid of this message. Upon my return, I had to connect the watch to the charger to end the activity. I don’t know if this is okay. -
@steoreggia It’s not about Race vs Race S. Some watches are faulty. I’ve had that issue too. I sent a faulty watch to Suunto and they sent me a replacement back same week. From then on no more problems with the number of steps.

@Pavlas
It happened to my S9PP as well two weeks ago. I was trying to fully discharge it (to calibrate the watch after the last two updates), and while I was running, the screen froze with the same behavior.
Once I put it on charge, it resumed monitoring the running session.
I can say the battery is working fine now, by the way. -
@Pavlas I think it is as it should be. With low battery watch changes some settings (GPS reading, HR reading and some others) to keep watch recording your activity and after plugging to charger you can stop or continue recording. You can have at least some record, which is better then nothing.

@Asgeir same for me on Vertical and Race, was 4 days skiing and 2 days it was O.K and 2 days not

Just to report a bug that was in the last version too. Last Saturday I was following a long route with many waypoints. The behaviour I expected is that I would see the normal tooth in all but the navigation screen, except when within 50m. This worked for maybe the first two hours.
After two hours or so, the distance to waypoint then permanently took over the the bottom tooth on every screen, meaning obviously I lost a data field on every screen. Mildly frustrating.
A separate bug I encountered this week was as I stopped a run, a notification interrupted the ending screens, and made it impossible to click end (or any option). A short hold of the middle button to return to activity, followed by ending it again solved the issue.

Separate bug today, think it has been reported before.
When using autopause and following a route, when cycling I prefer having the 250m size, rather than 100m. Naturally when I stop at the lights, the autopause resets the zoom to 100m every single time. In the city, this is a proper pain.

@Łukasz-Szmigiel I thought I’d seen you report it. How unfortunate.
